النسخة التاسعة عشرة من بطولة SPICE Cup Open تنطلق في سياتل

تستعد منطقة سياتل لاستضافة بطولة SPICE Cup Open لعام 2025 لأول مرة، حيث تُقام فعاليات النسخة التاسعة عشرة في فندق هيلتون بلفيو خلال الفترة من 19 إلى 24 نوفمبر. وتأتي البطولة هذا العام بمجموع جوائز مضمونة يبلغ 12,500 دولار، مع اعتماد نظام اللعب من 9 جولات بزمن تفكير 90 دقيقة مضافًا إليه 30 ثانية لكل نقلة.

تُقام البطولة في قسم واحد فقط، ويشترط للمشاركة حصول اللاعب على تصنيف FIDE لا يقل عن 2000 أو تصنيف USCF لا يقل عن 2200. كما تعتمد لجنة التنظيم على تصنيفات FIDE لشهر نوفمبر 2025 لتحديد القرعة والجوائز، مع إتاحة الفرصة لتحقيق ألقاب دولية مرموقة مثل GM وIM وWGM وWIM.

تشمل الجوائز الرئيسية 5000 دولار للمركز الأول و3000 دولار للثاني و2000 دولار للثالث. كما توفر البطولة جوائز خاصة لفئات أقل من 2450 وأقل من 2300، إلى جانب جوائز إضافية لأفضل لاعبة وأفضل لاعب فوق سن الخمسين، بالإضافة إلى جائزة خاصة لأفضل لعبة في البطولة.

وتوفر اللجنة المنظمة إقامة فندقية مجانية لعدد محدود من الأساتذة الكبار، مع إلزام اللاعبين الذين يحصلون على شروط مسبقة بعدم طلب Byes إلا بموافقة رسمية. كما يوفر المنظمون جميع المعدات اللازمة داخل قاعة اللعب، مع تطبيق إجراءات صارمة لمكافحة الغش حفاظًا على نزاهة المنافسات.

The 19th Edition of the SPICE Cup Open Kicks Off in Seattle

Seattle is preparing to host the 2025 SPICE Cup Open for the first time, with the nineteenth edition taking place at the Hilton Bellevue from November 19 to 24. This year’s event offers a guaranteed prize fund of $12,500 and will follow a 9-round format with a time control of 90 minutes plus a 30-second increment per move.

The tournament will feature a single section, requiring a minimum rating of 2000 FIDE or 2200 USCF for participation. November 2025 FIDE ratings will be used to determine pairings and prize eligibility, with opportunities to earn prestigious international titles such as GM, IM, WGM, and WIM.

Main prizes include $5000 for first place, $3000 for second, and $2000 for third. Additional category prizes are available for players rated under 2450 and under 2300, along with special awards for Best Female Player, Best Senior Player (50+), and a Brilliancy Prize for the best game of the event.

The organizers are offering complimentary hotel accommodations for a limited number of Grandmasters. Players receiving conditions must obtain official approval before requesting any byes. All playing equipment will be provided in the tournament hall, and strict anti-cheating measures will be enforced to ensure fair play.

وصول بعثة منتخب مصر للشطرنج للمشاركة في بطولة العرب بدولة الكويت الشقيقة

وصلت صباح اليوم بعثة منتخب مصر للشطرنج إلى دولة الكويت الشقيقة للمشاركة في بطولة العرب للرجال والسيدات 2025، وذلك برئاسة اللواء مختار عمارة رئيس الاتحاد المصري للشطرنج، وبمشاركة الأستاذ جورج سمير نائب رئيس الاتحاد، ضمن وفد الاتحاد المصري المشارك في البطولة.

تأتي هذه المشاركة في إطار حرص الاتحاد على دعم التواجد المصري في المحافل العربية والدولية، وتعزيز مكانة مصر في رياضة الشطرنج.

Arrival of the Egyptian National Chess Team in Kuwait for the Arab Championship

The Egyptian National Chess Team has arrived in the State of Kuwait to participate in the 2025 Arab Chess Championship for Men and Women, headed by Major General Mokhtar Ammara, President of the Egyptian Chess Federation, and accompanied by Mr. George Samir, Vice President of the Federation.

This participation comes as part of the Federation’s commitment to strengthening Egypt’s presence in major Arab and international tournaments and enhancing the country’s position in the sport of chess.

Men’s Team Participants:

• International Master David George

Women’s Team Participants:
• Woman Grandmaster Shahenda Wafa

إطلاق بطولة السلام بالغردقة للشطرنج السريع

أعلن الاتحاد المصري للشطرنج عن إقامة بطولة السلام بالغردقة للشطرنج السريع يوم الجمعة الموافق 28 نوفمبر 2025، وذلك بفندق شيلجادا، في بطولة مفتوحة لجميع اللاعبين من مختلف الأعمار، ومقامة دوليًا وفقًا لقوانين الاتحاد الدولي للشطرنج FIDE.

وتقام البطولة بالنظام السويسري، بعدد 7 جولات، بزمن تفكير 10 دقائق مع إضافة 5 ثوانٍ لكل نقلة. وتبدأ الجولة الأولى في تمام الساعة الثانية ظهرًا.

كما تشمل البطولة جوائز مالية وشهادات تقدير للمراكز الثمانية الأولى، بالإضافة إلى جوائز خاصة لفئات الناشئين تحت 8، 10، 12، 14، و16 سنة.

وتؤكد اللجنة المنظمة أن البطولة تأتي في إطار دعم وتنشيط رياضة الشطرنج وتوسيع قاعدة الممارسين على مستوى الجمهورية، مع توفير مناخ تنافسي احترافي يليق بالمشاركين.

Launch of the Al-Salam Rapid Chess Championship in Hurghada

The Egyptian Chess Federation has announced the organization of the Al-Salam Rapid Chess Championship in Hurghada on Friday, 28 November 2025, to be held at Sheljada Hotel. The event is open to all players of all ages and is officially rated, following FIDE regulations for rapid chess.

The championship will be played using the Swiss system with 7 rounds, at a time control of 10 minutes plus a 5-second increment per move. The first round will start at 2:00 PM.

The event features financial prizes and certificates of appreciation for the top eight places, in addition to special prizes for junior categories: Under 8, Under 10, Under 12, Under 14, and Under 16.

The organizing committee emphasizes that this championship aims to promote and expand the practice of chess across the country, while providing a competitive and professional environment worthy of the participants.

أكمل الأمريكي هيكارو ناكامورا 40 مباراة كلاسيكية، وهو العدد المطلوب لضمان التأهل عبر التصنيف إلى بطولة المرشحين 2026، التي أعلنت الفيديه اليوم إقامتها في قبرص خلال الفترة من 28 مارس إلى 16 أبريل 2026.

وبمشاركته الأخيرة في بطولة واشنطن دالاس المفتوحة الأولى، استوفى ناكامورا جميع شروط التأهل:
- خوض 40 مباراة كلاسيكية على الأقل بين فبراير 2025 ويناير 2026.
- الحفاظ على المركز الثاني عالميًا في متوسط التصنيف خلال الفترة من أغسطس 2025 إلى يناير 2026.

Hikaru Nakamura Officially Qualifies for the 2026 Candidates Tournament!

American Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura has officially secured his spot in the 2026 FIDE Candidates Tournament after completing the required 40 classical games — the key eligibility criterion for qualification through rating.

FIDE announced that the upcoming Candidates Tournament will be held in Cyprus from March 28 to April 16, 2026.

Following his participation in the 1st Annual Washington Dulles Open, Nakamura has now fulfilled all qualification requirements:
- Played at least 40 classical games between February 2025 and January 2026.
- Maintained the #2 world ranking in the six-month rating average period (August 2025 – January 2026).

With Magnus Carlsen opting out of the Candidates cycle, Nakamura — currently world no. 2 — leads the rating standings by a wide margin, making his qualification through the rating path practically guaranteed.

This means Hikaru Nakamura will feature prominently in the 2026 Candidates Tournament as the highest-rated player in the world after Carlsen, representing one of the strongest figures of the modern chess elite.

The upcoming edition will also include Fabiano Caruana, along with Anish Giri and Germany’s Vincent Keymer (Blübaum), who qualified via the Grand Swiss standings — setting the stage for one of the most competitive Candidates Tournaments in recent history.

شهدت الجولة الثالثة من بطولة كأس العالم للشطرنج المقامة في مدينة غوا الهندية مفاجآت مدوّية، حيث ودّع عدد من كبار المصنفين المنافسة بشكل غير متوقع.
فقد صنع المنتخب الألماني المفاجأة الكبرى، بعدما تألق نجومه فينسنت كايمر وماتياس بلوماوم وألكسندر دونشينكو والأخوان سفاني، وتمكّن أربعة منهم من العبور إلى الدور الرابع، مع تسجيل انتصارين صاعقين أطاحا بالمصنّفين الأول غوكش دي والرابع أنِش جيري من البطولة .

Round three of the FIDE Chess World Cup in Goa, India, delivered shocking upsets as several top seeds were unexpectedly knocked out of the competition.
