‎ : The Aswan Young Filmmakers Forum raises a question that continues to echo among young filmmakers who have completed their first film experience — whether through academic institutions or practical training programs such as the Aswan Film Workshops:

What comes next?

This question brought together 25 young women and men from Minya to Aswan, all of whom have completed training or academic film projects and are now searching for new opportunities to continue their artistic journey.

They met with a distinguished group of film industry professionals, including producers, programmers, representatives of film funds, academics, specialists, and directors of major film festivals. The sessions were moderated by producer Safei El Din Mahmoud, with administrative coordination led by Ati Metwaly.

The sessions also received significant attention from the Governor of Aswan, who joined the discussions with the young filmmakers in search of practical solutions and future opportunities — an important and encouraging gesture.

Representing the diplomatic community were Sergio Carranza, Ambassador of Spain to Egypt, and Dr. Magdalena Cruz, Cultural Attaché of Spain in Egypt.

Held in partnership with Foundation, the Embajada de España en El Cairo - السفارة الأسبانية في القاهرة, Red Star Films, alongside experts from AFAC - The Arab Fund for Arts and Culture and the Rotterdam Arab Film Festival.

يطرح ملتقى أسوان لشباب السينمائيين التساؤل الذي يتردد دائمًا بين الشباب الذين خاضوا تجربتهم الفيلمية الأولى، سواء من خلال الأكاديميات أو ورش التدريب العملي مثل ورش سينما أسوان:

‎ثم ماذا بعد؟

‎سؤال اجتمع من أجله ٢٥ فتاة وشابًا من المنيا وحتى أسوان، ممن قدموا مشاريعهم التدريبية أو الدراسية، وأصبحوا يبحثون عن فرص مختلفة لاستكمال مسارهم الفني.

‎واجتمع بهم نخبة من محترفي صناعة السينما، من منتجين ومبرمجين ومسؤولي صناديق دعم ومتخصصين وأكاديميين ومديري مهرجانات هامة. وأدار هذه الجلسات المنتج صفي الدين محمود، فيما تولت الزميلة آتي متولي التنسيق الإداري.

‎كما حظيت الجلسات باهتمام كبير من محافظ أسوان، الذي شارك الشباب الحضور بحثًا عن حلول وفرص تفيد الجميع، في بادرة مهمة وملهمة.

‎وشهد الملتقى أيضًا حضور سفير إسبانيا بالقاهرة، سيرخيو رومان كارانثا، والدكتورة ماجدالينا كروز، الملحق الثقافي لإسبانيا في مصر.

‎أُقيم الملتقى بالشراكة مع مؤسسة دروسوس، والسفارة الإسبانية بالقاهرة، وريد ستار، وبمشاركة عدد من الخبراء من الصندوق العربي للثقافة والفنون «آفاق»، ومهرجان روتردام للفيلم العربي.

: Guests enjoyed a wonderful evening by the Nile, where Egyptian and international art came together in a beautifully organized gathering hosted by the European Union Delegation in Cairo.

At the heart of the evening was EU Ambassador to Egypt, Angelina Eichhorst, whose continued support over the years was reflected in her warm presence and the smile that never left her throughout the festival nights, as she welcomed guests with genuine hospitality.

Guests enjoyed high-level artistic performances, along with the opportunity to meet leading Egyptian and Arab cinema stars, as well as European women filmmakers.

During the ceremony, the Ambassador presented the European Union Shield to the honorees of the 10th edition: Laila Eloui, Sulaf Fawakherji, and Polish filmmaker Dorota Kobiela Welchman.

It was not just an evening celebration, but a cultural and artistic gathering of the highest level ✨

قضى ضيوف مهرجان اسوان لافلام المرأة سهرة رائعة بين ضفاف النيل والفن المصري والعالمي، حظيت بتنظيم مميز من بعثة الاتحاد الأوروبي في القاهرة.

وكانت معالي السفيرة أنجلينا أيخهورست، سفيرة الاتحاد الأوروبي بالقاهرة، في قلب هذا اللقاء، بحضورها الداعم على مدار السنوات، وابتسامتها التي لم تفارقها طوال ليالي المهرجان، حيث استقبلت ضيوف المهرجان بروح ودودة وترحيب دافئ.

وقد استمتع الحضور بالفقرات الفنية رفيعة المستوى، مع لقاء نخبة من نجمات ونجوم السينما المصريين والعرب، وبعض صانعات الأفلام الأوروبيات.

وقامت معالي السفيرة خلال الحفل بتقديم درع الاتحاد الأوروبي إلى مكرمات الدورة العاشرة لمهرجان أسوان: النجمة ليلى علوي، والنجمة سلاف فواخرجي، والمخرجة البولندية دوروتا كوبييلا فيلخمان.

لم تكن مجرد حفلة ساهرة، بل لقاءً ثقافيًا فنيًا على أرفع المستويات

At , a session titled “Community Cinema: From Screen to Dialogue – Film as a Tool for Community Engagement”, organized by the UNFPA Egypt صندوق الأمم المتحدة للسكان مصر explored how art can shape and transform society.

Moderated by Heba Youssef (UNFPA), the discussion brought together director Marwa El Sharkawy, actor Ahmed Wafik, screenwriter and festival president Mohamed Abdelkhalek, producer Safei El Din Mahmoud, Sherine Maher (National Council for Women), and Mohamed Ali Hazein (Zat for Arts), with contributions from Dr. Azza Kamel and director Hala Khalil.

The session highlighted how cinema and storytelling can address critical social issues—from FGM and gender-based violence to stigma and community dialogue—emphasizing that art often reaches people more deeply than direct awareness campaigns. Examples ranged from grassroots theatre initiatives and music projects across villages, to mobile cinema screenings bringing films to communities with little access.

The discussion reaffirmed the power of film not only as a reflection of reality, but as a tool for engagement, healing, and lasting social impact. 🎬

‎ضمن فعاليات ، عُقدت ندوة بعنوان «سينما المجتمع: من الشاشة إلى الحوار – الفيلم كأداة لتعزيز المشاركة المجتمعية»، بتنظيم صندوق الأمم المتحدة للسكان، لمناقشة دور الفن في التأثير على المجتمع.

‎أدارت الندوة هبة يوسف (صندوق الأمم المتحدة للسكان)، وشارك فيها المخرجة مروة الشرقاوي، والفنان أحمد وفيق، والسيناريست ورئيس المهرجان محمد عبد الخالق، والمنتج صفي الدين محمود، وشيرين ماهر (المجلس القومي للمرأة)، ومحمد علي حزين (مؤسسة ذات للفنون)، إلى جانب مداخلات من الدكتورة عزة كامل والمخرجة هالة خليل.

‎وتناول النقاش كيف يمكن للسينما أن تطرح قضايا مجتمعية مهمة مثل الختان والعنف والوصم الاجتماعي، مؤكدين أن الفن يصل إلى الناس بعمق أكبر من البرامج التوعوية المباشرة. كما استعرضت الجلسة تجارب من المسرح المجتمعي والموسيقى وعروض السينما في القرى، والتي ساهمت في فتح مساحات للحوار والتفاعل.

‎وأكدت الندوة أن الفن لا يكتفي بعكس الواقع، بل يسهم في تغييره، ويشكل أداة فعالة للتأثير المجتمعي المستدام. 🎬
