Cabarete Kite Festival

On Saturday, July 27, Cabarete delivered its usual conditions of strong and consistent winds of around 25 knots, from noon until sunset. Our host, Millennium Hotel, contributed an ideal backdrop to the spectacular action in the shore break.

Luis Alberto Cruz narrowly beat his hometown friend Posito Martinez in a final heat that had everyone on the beach cheering in awe. Both riders are among the world’s best - and yet they had to focus and fight hard to get through to the final. Cabarete is home to a huge field of talented, daring riders and everyone was giving it their best.

What an honor it was to host our first CKF Ocean Sessions this year!

The Cabarete Kite Fest competition is open to the public!

This year's winner qualifies for the 2020 Red Bull King of the Air competition held in Cape Town, South Africa – by far the most prestigious event in kiteboarding.

Competition takes place on July 27th & 28th at 12:30pm weather permitting (Follow us on Instagram for the latest)
