Roughly a month ago my athlete Lene Broberg told me that she had signed up for a spontaneous ice marathon in Luleå, Sweden 🥶
As the name indicates the race is run purely on ice in -20 to -10 degrees celcius.
With very little specific preparation Lene managed to run away with a victory among the women in 3:24 🥳🥳
She now heads back to Denmark where we will continue to work on the shorter distance races 🔥🔥

So happy and proud of the guy! has been targeting this race for a long time for the sole purpose of securing a spot for the Ironman World Champs in Hawaii 2026.
Guess the picture says it all 😍🌺🌊🏄‍♂️
Enjoy your time Down Under - lots of work are waiting ahead 😂🔥😍

The Queen of Salalah 🔥🔥 On one of the hottest and most humid race courses won Ironman Salalah 70.3 for the 4th time in a row 👏👏 With the fastest female swim of the day - backed up by the 8th fastest ride - Heidi managed to run a controlled half marathon for an age group win and 10th overall - pretty solid when you’re racing the F50 category 🔥🔥🔥

Last weekend I had Rebecca racing Ironman 70.3 Portugal. Going into the race we had a pretty good feeling about her swim and bike but Rebecca has been dealing with a lot of run related issues for the past several months so obviously that was a big question mark 🤷‍♂️ So we went with a classic aggressive approach “swim and bike hard and hang on to the run” 😅🔥 And my god did she do that! Rebecca started the run with an 11 min lead and hung on to the best of her abilities! Unfortunately she got passed with 1 km to go thus ended up in 2nd 🥈👏 I’m super proud of the way she raced her first ever Ironman 70.3 and knowing how good of a runner she is when not injured, gives me great confidence for her 2026 season 💪💪

Congratulations on a great race Rebecca and awesome to watch my former athlete Kristian (Rebecca’s dad) back at racing again 😍

One for the books!

For 2025 was all about getting an early qualification for Ironman Hawaii next year. Last weekend at his Ironman Korea he achieved just that 💪

Although his legs were hurting from the very beginning of the run Max kept fighting! With the new qualification system EVERY second counts and at the end of the race Max finished 21st overall 👏👏

He is the second Credo athlete that is going to Hawaii next year but I have a feeling plenty more will follow 😍🔥

Congratulations on a dream come true Max 🌺🌺🌺

Ironman Wales is arguably one of the toughest Ironmen on the planet. It tends to break a lot of dreams with its choppy water, brutal winds and endless elevation on rough roads, but it didn’t break ! In fact Nicolai showed just how strong he is at the moment by placing 14th overall and beating his own coach’s record by 1(!!!) minutes in the process 😂👏👏
Nicolai declined his Kona spot in favour of other races next year. His last three races has been Ironman Lanzarote, Hawaii and Wales - it’s time see how fast he actually can go on a fast course 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Congratulations on a fantastic race mate!

A couple of weeks ago raced the 70.3 in Silkeborg as part of our last build towards Ironman Wales this weekend. In a very controlled effort Nicolai raced himself to 2nd place overall but more importantly his race confirmed that fitness is exactly where it needs to be!
Ironman Wales is a strong mans course and tends to favour those who did in fact put in the work beforehand 😍
Other then Wales I have racing Ironman Italy and will make his return to Ironman racing in Maryland, US.

I wish you all the very best! You’ve all done some amazing work to get here 👏👏

Following my latest post about racing according to the strategy in hand, Vargin toed the line at Ironman Tallinn last Saturday. Due to cold weather the race got postponed 3 hours. Despite the cold start Vargin was hot out of the water – having a top 10 fastest swim split over all!
In our race-call two days before the race I had suggested Vargin to:

Hold between 175 – 185w on the bike.
Start the run just above 5:00 pace to end the race around 4:55 – 5:00.

Here are the actual numbers:

Bike: 180w (185NP)
Run: 4:56 (NGP 4:53)

I have mad respect for an ex*****on like that! Vargin lives and trains around Phuket in Thailand so it’s always a puzzle to the data provided in those conditions and put them to use in much dryer and colder weather – think it’s safe to say we got it right this time.

Well done mate!

Ironman Copenhagen update

It’s been 8 days since Ironman Copenhagen, and I have now had the pleasure to look at my athlete’s data and catch up with them on phone. No doubt this was a fast day for a lot of athletes including the guys I had racing. All of them managed to set substantial personal bests at the distance. Impressive in itself but as a coach I’m much more focused on the process and seeing training data being applied to an actual race strategy – and seeing that strategy being executed!! Here I was very pleased to see how little the guys differed in actual output vs the pre-determined one – well done!
“Funny” enough four out of five came with a goal of bettering themselves from previous years and one came to race for a ticket to Hawaii. They all five succeeded on their goal but guess who were furthest away from their race plan? 😛

Congratulations to all of you:

Mathias Rasmussen (2nd M35) 8:48 🌺🌺
Søren Pallisgaard (debut) 9:32
Morten Bindzus (52 min faster than last year) 9:56
Søren Søndergaard (12 min PB) 10:08
Andreas Fæk (debut) 10:45

It been 15 years since I did my first ever iron-distance race – Ironman Copenhagen. Racing together with great friends I had an absolute blast and to my big surprise I even won my age group. Ever since 2010 I have either been racing or walking the sidewalks of the Copenhagen streets cheering athletes on their way to the finish line.
The atmosphere in Copenhagen during the race is unparallel and the main reason why I always recommend my athletes - at least once in their life - to come to Denmark and race in our capitol.
Unfortunately, for the first time since 2010, I won’t be able to watch the gun go off at Amager Strandpark live as I have other obligations this weekend.
However, I wish each and every one a phenomenal race – the conditions couldn’t be any better!
Obviously, a shout out to all my athletes racing tomorrow as well! You guys have put in the work – now it’s time to unleash it all!

Looking back at last weekend with a lot of racing going on around the world.

Russell Vanderwater kicked things off at Powerman Malaysia - a race he won last year. This time a lot of work related travel had made for a tricky build but Russell once again delivered in every aspect of racing and won his AG once again. 🔥

In Denmark I had a handful of athletes racing Ironman 70.3 Elsinore. Everyone delivered close to perfect performances relative to the race plan they had. Of course there were minor differences but overall I’m very pleased to see the numbers in training translating into actual race performance!
Special shout out to Stine Kjellev for winning her AG only a couple of weeks after riding Granfondo Stelvio! 👏

Last competitor of the week was Nikolai Jenkins - an old athlete of mine that has come back to structured training after moving from Singapore back home to the US. Here he race the olympic distance at the Colonial beach triathlon. Nikolai came 3rd overall after a stellar performance across all three disciplines! A small but important step towards his goal of getting back to full distance ironman racing later this year. 💪

As always I’m extremely thankful for the athletes that I coach and happy to see them all putting together great performances! Hard work pays off 🔥🔥
