🌟CASPER KJÆR JENSEN🌟 – breaking news from Cannes: Finally it’s official that Casper Kjær Jensen is to play lead as the iconic Hans Christian Andersen in Nikolaj Arcel’s new feature film MIT LIVS EVENTYR // My Fairytale Life. Shooting starts this fall and airs in cinemas autumn 2027. 👏🏼👌🏼💪🏻

Since the film was announced earlier this year, there has been great anticipation surrounding who would portray Denmark’s world-famous author during his formative years. Following an extensive casting process, the role has gone to Casper Kjær Jensen, who graduated from the Danish National School of Performing Arts in Odense in 2024 and is now landing by far the biggest role of his career to date.

Casper Kjær has previously made his mark in the feature film Nightwatch: Demons Are Forever and the HBO series Kamikaze, as well as in stage productions such as Jeppe of the Hill at the Royal Danish Theatre and in the leading role of Romeo in Romeo and Juliet at the Betty Nansen Theatre. He is currently rehearsing for Shakes’ outdoor production of King Lear.

Casper Kjær is thrilled to have landed the role. He says:
“It’s absolutely incredible to land such a major role. H.C. Andersen has always spoken to me. It’s strange, but from the very beginning it has felt completely right for me. There’s something in the story of H.C. as a young man that resonates deeply with me — but that also speaks to an entire generation of young people who, like him, experience loneliness and dream of belonging to a community. I’m incredibly excited to begin working with Nikolaj.”
