Our vision
Nordic Percussion Festival is created to make a platform of young percussionists and composers to develop knowledge of new music from other countries, international corporation in chamber music and great performance experience. The student based concept means that the students decide on the repertoire and are also leading most of the sessions themselves together with composers - learning from each others experience. The festival is a non-profit organisation - which means that teachers and performers are not paid for their participation - it should be the pure wish to develop this unique platform that drives the work.
There are no fee for participating. The students take care of food, transport and accommodation themselves. There will be concerts with the repertoire learned during the days each evening in some of the greatest concert halls in Aarhus.
Essentially this approach creates a unique atmosphere of sharing and helping each other - opposing the competition spirit and show off that often tend to take place at large festivals.
