🇭🇺 A children’s choir from the hosting city of our festival:
We are happy to see you again, Laudate Gyermekkar of Kodály Zoltán Magyar Kórusiskola!

🎼 For nearly 40 years, the Zoltán Kodály Hungarian Choir School has been a unique educational institution in the country, with a focus on choral singing. Their pupils sing 4 hours a week in one of the four choirs operating here, organized by age. 🏫👧🧑‍🦱👱‍♀️

⛪️ Like the other choirs of the school, Laudate Choir performs regularly in the Budavári Matthias Church and often sings in the country’s largest church, St. Stephen’s Basilica. In addition to liturgical services, the choir is involved in various colourful activities. 🎬 For example, the children have also successfully appeared in several films and sung at major events with several famous orchestras of the country, including the Budafok Dohnányi Orchestra. 🎻

🏆 Like the other choirs of the Choir School, Laudate Choir is also the winner of numerous domestic and international choral competitions.
🇭🇺 They are currently preparing for presentations of works by several contemporary Hungarian composers.

🎶 We are looking forward to hearing their repertoire!

🎵 A choir with unique activities:
Let us introduce you Jauktais koris Dziesmuvara from Latvia 🇱🇻

🎼 The choir’s repertoire reflects deep respect for traditional Latvian cultural values—communal singing, shared musical experiences, and the spirit of folk heritage—while also embracing experimentation with contemporary forms, styles, and interdisciplinary projects. The choir is formed by like-minded enthusiasts of Latvian choral music who dedicate their free time to cultivating high-quality choral performance and creating meaningful cultural experiences for both themselves and their audiences. Music-making in Dziesmuvara is inseparable from a strong sense of community and shared celebration. 🫶🎊

🌟 Despite its nearly 100-year history, Dziesmuvara is characterized by youthful energy and artistic vitality. The choir has performed on outdoor stages throughout the Latvian countryside as well as in major concert halls in Latvia and abroad. Since its revival in the early 2000s, Dziesmuvara has been an active participant in festivals, charity events, competitions, flash mobs, cultural forums, concerts, and national song festivals; and has several achievements from international choir competitions as well. 🏅

🪄 The choir’s conductors are Nora Žeigure and Oskars Freimanis.

👋 New faces from Sweden 🇸🇪
We are happy to welcome KOPkören! 🧑👨👱‍♂️

🪄 KOPkören is one of the youngest independent male choirs in Stockholm, Sweden. The choir is led by Sebastian Heurlin Fernold, and is exclusively composed by young singers between 18-24 with backgrounds from the prolific music schools of Stockholm. Several of the choristers are currently studying music at different conservatories and music universities. 🎓

🎶 KOPkören was founded in 2023, and has since performed several successful and highly appreciated concerts everywhere, from the esteemed churches of Stockholm to Musikverein in
Vienna, Austria. 👏

🎊 KOPkören has been showered with praise and both the high level and the young age
has often been noted. After their successful competition last year in Vienna, where the choir received great appreciation and several awards, we are happy that they chose Budapest as their next choral destination! 🤩

🫶 Friends from Switzerland 🇨🇭
Welcome to meeting music again, Cantus Raeticus!

🪄 The choir consists of current and former members of the Bündner Jugendchor, founded after the Bündner Jugendchor’s 20th anniversary celebration. 🎊

🎼 The repertoire of Cantus Raeticus ranges from local songs (Rätoromanisch), through international folklore, classical and contemporary choral literature to jazz and pop arrangements. 📍🌍📜🎤

🎊 In addition to successful anniversary concerts, Cantus Raeticus took part in several international competitions, including Musica Eterna Roma in July 2025, where they were awarded a Special Prize, two Gold Diplomas and two category winnings. 🎗️

We are delighted that Laurea Mundi Budapest & Budapest International Choral Celebration attracts so many children’s choirs this year 🫶

👋 Let us now introduce the Spring Children’s Choir from the United States 🇺🇸

🌸 Spring Choir is a youth choir based in the San Francisco Bay Area, USA, under the direction of conductor and music educator Wenbo Deng. The choir is part of Spring Music Academy.

🥇 The ensemble has received Gold Awards at international choral competitions, and has earned First Place at the U.S. International Music Competition for seven consecutive years. 🎊
🎶 Spring Choir is frequently invited to perform at major music festivals and cultural venues, including the California International Children’s Choral Festival, Stanford University, and various city halls and public libraries across the Bay Area.

🎵 We hope that their melodies will bring back the freshness of spring in the heat of the summer! 💐

🎼 As the first choir of this week, we welcome Chór Uniwersytetu Ekonomicznego w Katowicach from Poland 🇵🇱

🪄 The choir of the University of Economics in Katowice was established in 2006 and is conducted by Michał Brożek. The choir consists of students, graduates, university employees, and people from outside the university. 🎓

🎵 The choir sings at academic and special events, and often performs internationally as well. It participates in numerous musical projects and events at the regional, national, and international levels. It has won numerous Golden Awards, Grand Prizes and Special Prizes at competitions and festivals in Poland and abroad. 🏅

🎶 The choir's repertoire includes classical, sacred, folk, contemporary, and popular music. The choir also performs vocal-instrumental works. The ensemble has released five albums. ▶️
This is the choir’s first time in Hungary - we are happy that they chose us! 🎊
