The 1st Misatango Choir Festival took place in July 2019 and ended up with a succesful Gala Concert in the Concert Hall of the Flora Cologne - Palais!
160 choir singers from 5 different countries brought together a great concert. The music: "Misatango" (Misa a Buenos Aires), a Mass with authentic Argentine tango rhythms. It's the perfect mix of music and spirituality. The heart and soul of tango is incorporated in the composer Martin Palmeri's famous piece, which premiered in 1996. It is a trip to Argentina, sometimes whispered, sometimes confidently swelling or triumphant, always linked to the melancholy keynote of tango. Thus, the music becomes a tango-colored mass or a spiritual tango. Here our Foto Gallery: https://www.misatango-germany.com/galerie
Our next project: WORLD PREMIERE! TANGO CHORFANTASIE 2020
We invite all participant of the "Misatango Choir Festival 2019" to be part in 2020 of the World Premiere "Tango Chorfantasie" by Martín Palmeri.
This concert will coincide with the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the birth of Ludwig van Beethoven and has been composed by Martin Palmieri for a string quartet, double bass, piano, bandoneon, 4 soloists and a mixed choir. This exceptional and very unique performance is scheduled to take place on June 28th 2020 at the Rhein-Sieg Halle (Concert Hall) in Siegburg and will be sponsored by the Association Beethoven Jubiläums Gesellschaft mbH (www.bthvn2020.de). The official organiser is the German-Hispanoamerican Society LiberArte Bonn e.V. (www.liberartebonn.com)
Here and based on Beethoven's “Chorfantasie”, Palmeri takes this own idea and develops it through his very personal and unique compositional language. As Beethoven lets his “Chorfantasie” be carried by what is known as the musical instrument of the Old World - the piano - Maestro Palmieri resorts to the most well-known musical instrument of his native country in the New World, Argentina - the bandoneon - creating a delightfully original piece for 4 soloists, a string quartet, double bass, piano, bandoneon and a mixed choir.
This piece will performed in German (lyrics by Christoph Kuffner) and Spanish lyrics by Uruguayan poet Roberto Aguerre).
