Hope 💖✨⚡️💥🔥
Nearly two decades after he last cracked a whip as Rick O’Connell, Brendan Fraser is heading back to the gym, and back to the desert. Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in May 2026, the Oscar winner confirmed he is preparing for The Mummy 4, which Universal has scheduled for release on October 15, 2027.
“We’re gonna get the band back together,” Fraser said. “The only way to do it. So we are going to give the audience what they have been bothering all of us for, for the last twenty-whatever years.” Rachel Weisz returns as Evelyn, the role she played in the first two films before sitting out 2008’s Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, and John Hannah is back as her brother Jonathan. Directing duties go to Radio Silence, the team behind the recent Scream films.
Fraser admitted he had nearly given up on it. “I was hopeful for a long while, and then I was like, ‘I don’t know if they are.’ Then other Mummy movies got made.” He started to describe the plan, “saddle back up, go back to the locations,” before catching himself: “I should probably stop talking like this, because I don’t want to give everything away.”
Then came the line that fans have embraced. “Please wish me luck,” he said. “I’m doing my best to get this 57-year-old gear in shape.”
After The Whale, Killers of the Flower Moon and one of Hollywood’s most beloved comebacks, it seems the last thing on Fraser’s list is outrunning a sandstorm one more time.
