In a history spanning 33 years, the EBS Symposium offers speeches, workshops, a recruiting fair and an innovation fair. This two day event gathers about 1000 participants from the best universities in Europe, addressing topics relevant to business and politics.

Speaker Announcement | 37th EBS Symposium

We’re excited to welcome Johannes Kähler to this year’s Symposium as part of our Defense Panel.

Johannes Kähler is Chief of Staff at Quantum Systems, a global producer of unmanned air, land and sea vehicles.

Prior to joining QS, he served in the German Naval Special Forces Command, rising to troop commander and deploying with his team to conflict regions around the world. He holds a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Munich.

We can’t wait to see him tomorrow at the EBS Symposium. The Defense Panel is from 10:15 to 11:15.

Speaker Announcement | 37th EBS Symposium

We are excited to welcome Mathis Wilke to this year’s EBS Symposium, where he will be sharing his insights in our Investment Banking Panel.

Mathis is Managing Director at Stout and Head of the German Speaking Region. As a senior member of Stout’s global Technology, Media and Telecommunications practice, he advises clients across mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, restructurings and equity and debt financing.
Throughout his career, Mathis has developed extensive expertise in international transactions, particularly across technology-driven sectors including artificial intelligence, software, fintech, automotive technology and mobility.

We can’t wait to have him on stage this September.

We are excited to welcome Julia Gerken to this year’s EBS Symposium, where she will be sharing her insights in our Women in Business Panel.

Julia is a Director at Verdane, a specialist growth investment firm. She joined Verdane in 2020 and focuses primarily on existing portfolio companies and new investments in German businesses within the e-commerce and software sectors.

Prior to joining Verdane, Julia spent four years as a consultant at Boston Consulting Group, focusing primarily on strategy projects in the consumer and retail sectors. She also gained experience in Investment Banking at Credit Suisse in London and Sales & Trading at Société Générale in Zurich.

We look forward to having her on stage this September.

We are excited to welcome Samuel Pemsel to this year’s EBS Symposium, where he will be sharing his insights in our Founders Panel.
Samuel is the founder of Jobluck, a career development and recruiting platform focused on connecting young talent with companies. He started his entrepreneurial journey at just 15 years old and has since built extensive experience in recruiting, career development and entrepreneurship.
Samuel is also an EBS alumnus, having studied Business Studies at EBS University. During his time at EBS, he continued to develop Jobluck and expand the company’s partnerships with businesses looking to recruit young talent.

Robert is Senior Banker and Head of Financial Sponsor Coverage Germany at Société Générale. Throughout his career, he has built extensive experience in investment banking, M&A and financial sponsor coverage. Before joining Société Générale, he held senior positions at Santander, including Managing Director and Head of M&A and Financial Sponsors Coverage for Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
His previous experience also includes positions at Nomura, Berenberg, Lehman Brothers and Lazard. Robert is also an EBS alumnus, having studied at the European Business School Oestrich-Winkel.
