Looking back on the first ARD Prizewinners’ Tour 2026 with clarinetist Elad Navon, pianist Liya Cecilia Wang, violist Ionel Ungureanu, cellist Alexander Warenberg and baritone Sam Park.

From the very first concert, the five musicians shared a remarkable musical chemistry – or as the Straubinger Tagblatt wrote:
“Wonderful ensemble playing, as if shaped by many years of performing together.”

Weeks of rehearsals, concerts and travelling together turned this tour into much more than a concert series.

What happens after winning the ARD Competition?

For clarinetist Elad Navon, First Prize winner 2025, it meant new opportunities, new stages and the chance to make music with artists from all over the world.

For the second time now, cellist Alexander Warenberg is joining the Prizewinners Tour of the ARD Competition. He describes what can grow out of these intense weeks together. 🎻

“I didn’t know any of them before. Now we have spent such an intense month together.

We spend every day together, having dinner, playing ping pong, performing ten concerts. So after those weeks, you create friendships that last far beyond the project.”

The most curious audience of the Prizewinners Tour 2026 already showed up during rehearsals. 👀

During the rehearsal phase at Hotel Bareiss as part of the Schwarzwald Musikfestival, school classes visited our musicians and asked questions that really made them sweat. 🎻

The final stops of the first tour take place at the Schwetzinger SWR Festspiele on May 16 & 17 and at the Schwarzwald Musikfestival on May 18 & 19.
