Brazil doesn’t just love sport. Brazil lives inside it. 🇧🇷

214 million people. Five World Cup titles. The country that gave the world Pelé, Senna, and a style of play that no one has ever been able to fully replicate. But behind the passion, something else is being built — a technology ecosystem quietly transforming how Brazilian sport operates, innovates, and scales.

Next week we cross into World Cup territory. 🇲🇽

This week we’re spotlighting three Brazilian players building the future of sport:

🏟️ Arena Hub — Latin America’s largest center for sports innovation, located inside Allianz Parque in São Paulo. With 150+ startups, 150+ sports entities, and 15+ international hub partnerships across South America, North America, Europe, and Asia, Arena Hub is the connective tissue of Brazilian sports-tech. A huge shoutout to Fernando Patara and Ricardo Mazzucca, co-founders, whom have been one of the driving forces behind building this ecosystem from the ground up.

⚽ CBF + Genius Sports — the Brazilian Football Confederation selected Genius Sports to deploy semi-automated offside technology across all Série A stadiums in 2026. 24 dedicated cameras per stadium, fully integrated with VAR and real-time player tracking. Brazil joining the Premier League, Copa Libertadores, and Copa Sudamericana in the world’s elite group of football ecosystems deploying this technology.

🎟️ Ticket Sports — founded in São Paulo in 2015, Ticket Sports is Brazil’s largest marketplace for sports experiences — connecting athletes with thousands of running, cycling, triathlon, and swimming events across the country. In 2025 alone, their platform processed nearly 3 million registrations, generating the richest dataset on Brazilian athlete behavior ever compiled. A shoutout to CEO Daniel Krutman, who brought this story to the STN stage in 2025 — and whose work is quietly transforming how participatory sport operates in Latin America.

Padel didn’t go global by accident. Someone built the infrastructure 🇪🇸

In 2017, the team in Madrid saw what was coming before the rest of the world did — and built the digital layer padel needed. Seamless court booking, player matching, community. The operating system behind one of the fastest-growing sports on earth.

Today, 1.5 million players use Playtomic every month across 6,000 clubs in 63 countries. is among its shareholders. In 2025, investors put €65 million behind its next chapter.

The insight was simple but rare: padel isn’t just a sport. It’s a social experience. Build for the community, not just the court.

That’s the kind of thinking that turns a local passion into a global platform — and exactly the kind of founder energy we want in the room at STN 2026.

Spain didn’t just give football tiki-taka. It gave sport a data revolution — and a brand-new global game 🇪🇸

From the algorithms refining elite tactics to the cities positioning themselves as the next capitals of sports innovation, Spain is shaping how sport is run, analysed, and played.

This week we’re spotlighting three Spanish forces driving the future of the game:

Sportian (formerly LaLiga Tech) — born inside LaLiga and launched in 2021, Sportian turned a football league’s in-house engineering into a global sports-tech business. Built by 150+ specialists, its AI and data tools now serve stadiums, clubs, and broadcasters far beyond Spain. Massive credit to the team building it — especially Tom Woods and Anna — for turning deep sports infrastructure and data expertise into products now impacting the industry far beyond Spain.

GSIC Powered by Microsoft — the Global Sports Innovation Center, headquartered in Madrid with hubs in Singapore and Valencia. For over a decade GSIC has connected startups, corporates, investors, and institutions worldwide, testing and certifying the technologies shaping the future of sport, health, media, and entertainment. Huge kudos to Juan and Iris, who continue to push this ecosystem forward with consistency, openness, and real long-term thinking.

Valencia Innovation Capital — Spain’s momentum isn’t just happening in Madrid or Barcelona. Valencia is increasingly becoming a serious player in sports innovation, entrepreneurship, and international collaboration — from its new XTIC center of excellence to a growing ecosystem of labs and global partners. A shoutout to David and everyone helping position the city as a destination for the future of sport.

70% of kids quit sports by age 13. The reason isn’t talent. It’s that it stops being fun.

Playfinity was founded in Oslo by five fathers who looked at that statistic — and at their own kids drifting toward screens — and decided to build something about it.

Their answer: don’t fight the screen. Beat it at its own game.
Playfinity makes real sports equipment — footballs, baseballs, jump sensors — embedded with sensor technology and connected to a gamified app. Kick-up challenges. Leaderboards. Levels. Rewards. The same loops that make video games addictive, redirected into physical play.

⚽ Real match-quality gear, built to survive thousands of kicks
📱 Built on playOS — their proprietary sensor + mobile platform
🌍 Thousands of young players across 21 countries

“There’s a lot of technology focused on excellence and performance — there’s nothing for the 98% who just want to have fun”

— Pippa Boothman, CEO, Playfinity

This is the other half of the Norwegian sports model. Olympiatoppen builds the champions at the top. Playfinity protects the participation base that feeds it — the kids who might quit before they ever discover what they’re capable of.

That’s the kind of company we want in the room at STN 2026.

Founders building in youth sport, participation, or gamified hardware — we want to hear from you.

A small sensor. A big revolution.

Playermaker is the world’s leading foot-worn performance technology for football — turning every touch, sprint, and kick into actionable data, captured directly from the boot.

But the mission goes deeper than the tech.

Equal opportunities for every player, regardless of gender, age, or geography. Elite-level insight, available to any ambitious athlete. Built in Tel Aviv. Trusted on the world’s top training grounds.

160+ elite clubs and academies worldwide
15 high-impact performance metrics
Dozens of peer-reviewed research papers
FIFA and LaLiga ecosystem partner

“We started in football because it’s the world’s game — but the problem we’re solving isn’t sport-specific. Foot-worn data is the future of performance, and we’re just getting started expanding across sports.”

This is exactly the kind of company we want in the room at STN 2026 — founders who took a hardware-first bet on football and built it into a global performance platform with a vision well beyond it.

Founders building in performance, wearables, or athlete development — we want to hear from you.

This is where STN was born.

Israel doesn’t have the biggest sports market. It has something more valuable — the people who build the infrastructure behind it.

This week we’re spotlighting Israeli companies shaping the future of sport from Tel Aviv to the world’s biggest leagues, clubs, and broadcasters:
sport — our home. Founded in 2017, we’ve been connecting startups, investors, clubs, and brands across the global sports tech ecosystem ever since. 8 editions of Sports Tech Nation. 30+ countries. 8,000+ participants.

— the company that changed how the world consumes sports highlights. AI-powered video at scale, reaching 500M+ fans across the NBA, NFL, UEFA, ESPN, and 150+ rights holders.

— the sports media powerhouse born in Israel. From FanSided to 90min to The Players’ Tribune — 200M+ monthly users, $300M+ raised, valued at $1.4B+.

Israel is one of 30+ countries represented in the STN global ecosystem.
