I extended all the boundaries of Egypt; I overthrew those who invaded them from their lands. I slew the Denyen in their isles, the Tjeker and the Peleset were made ashes. The Sherden and the Weshesh of the sea, they were made as those that exist not, taken captive at one time, brought as captives to Egypt, like the sand of the shore.

Proceedings of the International Conference Held at the Institute for Egyptology and Coptology of Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, Munich, 10–11 December, 2021, Edited by and , Ägypten und Altes Testament 121 (2023) 📖📖

The volume assembles the contributions of a conference on the Ramesside military system that aimed to shed light on new archaeological and historical perspectives concerning the entire military outlook of Egypt at this time. The intention of the conference was to make a broad assessment of the current state of knowledge about the Ramesside military system and discuss how the new knowledge relates to previously held theories, and to provide a forum for discussion. The Egyptian military activity was very significant during the Ramesside Period of Egypt (Dynasties XIX–XX, 1310–1100 BC) and was an important part of the historical developments during the New Kingdom of Egypt as well as in the contemporary Late Bronze Age of the ancient Near East.

His Majesty came from his fi[rst] campaign [of] victory, his heart joyful, for his attack had been successful over every foreign country. He captured the rebellious countries by the strength of his father, Amun, who decreed bravery and victory for him. He placed him in front of him, his heart [joyful] in doing [marvels] for his son, and in handing over South, North, West and East to him. He who attacked his boundary was in his grasp, and none opposed [his] arm.
