Before alumni of the Liedakademie return to the stage in Heidelberg, where important steps of their career took place, Hampson himself performs alongside his long-time piano partner Wolfram Rieger.
Mahler’s “Wunderhorn” songs — a repertoire closely connected to Heidelberg — will also bring the story full circle: they were the works with which Hampson’s teachings in Heidelberg began.
