Hanover – the world’s most beautiful city

Maybe Hanover is not the very first city that comes to your mind when you hear the description “most beautiful city in the world”. But the reason for that is simply that Paris or Rio keep bragging constantly about their sights and venues, a behavior that would really not fit the Lower Saxony way of gentleman-like understatement. e for instance or the Eilenriede, a gigantic forest right in the middle of the city. But also the beautiful Herrenhäuser Gardens with a famous grotto created by Hanover-lover Niki de Saint Phalle. Not to forget sights like the famous zoo, the Sea-Life aquarium with it’s impressive underwater tunnel and many exhibitions and museums. Whether you think Hanover is a beautiful City or not, depends on how well you know it. Everyone who lives here is very impressed. www.hannover.de

The native born without question, but more impressively those who have moved here and bask in it´s unique atmosphere. Even when coming from acclaimed metropolises and trendsetting Cities such as Hamburg or Munich, they discover and experience in a surprisingly short space of time what makes Hanover „ the most beautiful City in the world“. The students rowing club ANGARIA Hannover is offering hands-on support for rowers (male/female) from the Ukraine. Up to four out of twelve apartments in the student dormitory of the rowing club can be made available free-of-charge, incl. direct access to high performance training facilities and a full fleet of Empacher boats in our boathouse. Individual support to pursue university studies during the stay can be arranged.
The City of Hanover is located in the north of Germany with direct rail connections from Warszawa via Berlin. The urban area of Hanover has approximately 1.2 million inhabitants. The Leibniz-University of Hanover has been hosting the EUSA 2015 European University Rowing Championships.

Todays guy is one of our exchange students Max Meurer. Max is from Germany, and has been rowing for several years. He actually rowed against NTNUI in the European University Championship in rowing in Hannover 2015, where Max´s club were sprinting against us. (https://www.facebook.com/RWTH-Achter-242875342397668/). Unfortunately, they finished first. Max has specialized in sprint regattas, and has beaten Cambridge in Split and Vienna. Impressive! He now sits on seat number seven in our boat, where he keeps the rating high together with the stroke. Just take a look at this guy´s technique in Bergen, and you will be amazed. Besides rowing Max loves to travel, and has experienced a lot of Norway already. With blond hair, a mustache and his own Volkswagen here in Norway, Max fits perfect into the Norwegians imagination of what a German tourist would look like. We are very glad that you joined our team, Max, and we have to tell that our exchange students in the past have a tradition to party hard at the banquettes, but we don´t think you will let us down at all. Keep it up, Max!

Karolina Farr, EUC 2015 Champion for the University of Mainz takes the bow position in this years BOAT RACE Womens Reserve for Cambridge. Ashton BROWN, 2015 EUC Champion in W8+ takes the bow position in the Women's Blue boat and Louis MARGOT, 2015 EUC bronze medal in M8+ takes the stroke position in the Men's reserve boat.
