Rene Schwedlers roots are not located in techno music. As a 15 year old teenager he was infected with turntablism, and he was not cured from his addiction so far. Coming from a small town by the baltic sea in old east germany, he made it to be a respected personality in hamburg, the big northern capital next to berlin. He was bookd to play at parties with pop acts like stereo mcs and though his music is electronic it is quite close to pop. Ashes on the dancefloor is definnitely nothing for the minimalist purists, but hey, who wants to be boring anyway? René Schwedler besitzt das gewisse Etwas: Sei es, dass man bei seinen Sets nie genau vorausahnen kann, was einen als nächstes erwartet, weil er auf unvergleichliche Art und Weise Altes mit neuem zu verbinden scheint. Sei es, dass seine Bewegungen hinter dem DJ Pult jeden Zuschauer bereits zum mittanzen animieren. Ein jeder, der in Hamburgs Techno-Szene zuhause ist, wird über kurz oder lang auf dem Dancefloor über seinen Beat gestolpert sein - spätestens seit er 2006 Resident DJ im legendären Purgatory wurde. Seine musikalische Geschichte begann derweil lange vorher, denn der gebürtige Wismarener hat seine Wurzeln ursprünglich im Hip Hop, weshalb er sich bereits mit 15jahren seine ersten Turntables kaufte. Schon bald entdeckte er jedoch seine Leidenschaft für Deep House und bereits zwei Jahre später entstanden erste Partyprojekte. 2004 bildete einen weiteren Meilenstein mit der Gründung des Partylabels [SAETISFAI], und weitere wie, PARADOX & ET VOILÀ! So ganz nebenbei hatte er bereits die Ehre, an der Seite von namenhaften Acts wie Boris Brechja, Noize, Martin Eyerer, Stereo MC, Siopis, Smash TV, Alex D'elia & Nihil Young und einigen anderen so ziemlich alle nennenswerten Hamburger Clubs zu durchrocken. Im Oktober 2011 erscheint außerdem sein erstes Release auf "WAAP/we are all prostitutes" : René Schwedler feat. Rayo – Ashes on the Dancefloor. Auf diesem steuern u.a.
