🗺️ Als elementarer Bestandteil unseres Lebens sind Grenzen namensgebend für das GrIStuF 2018 geworden. “Beyond Borders - Where are Your Limits?” hieß es für die internationalen Studierenden vom 16. bis 23. Juni 2018. Zunächst einmal sind Grenzen nur schwarze Striche auf buntem Papier, doch wenn man näher hinschaut, kann man viele unterschiedliche Arten von Grenzen entdecken. Eine Woche lang kamen in Greifswald etwa 150 Studierende aus aller Welt zusammen, um sich auf unterschiedlichste Art und Weise mit den Grenzen dieser Welt und ihren eigenen zu beschäftigen.

[EN] 🗺️ As a fundamental part of our lives, borders became the inspiration for the name of the GrIStuF 2018. “Beyond Borders – Where Are Your Limits?” was the theme for international students from June 16 to 23, 2018. At first glance, borders are just black lines on colorful paper, but if you look closer, you can discover many different kinds of borders. For one week, around 150 students from all over the world gathered in Greifswald to explore the world’s borders and their own in a wide variety of ways.

Wir freuen uns euch zu bekochen (was es gibt, verraten wir euch auch ganz bald!), uns gemeinsam mit euch aufs Festival einzustimmen und vor allem eine schöne Zeit miteinander zu verbringen.

🐚🌊 Vom 4. bis 11. Juni 2016 versammelten sich wieder zahlreiche Studierende in Greifswald. Mit dem Festivalmotto “Sea: The Future - Discovering the Ocean Current” geraten in diesem Jahr besonders die Weltmeere in den Fokus. Es wurde angeregt diskutiert, thematisch in den neun Workshops gearbeitet, neue Freundschaften wurden geschlossen und die Participants konnten die Stadt Greifswald und Mecklenburg-Vorpommern auf vielen kulturellen Veranstaltungen und Exkursionen kennenlernen.

[EN] 🐚🌊 From June 4 to 11, 2016, numerous students gathered once again in Greifswald. With this year’s festival theme, “Sea: The Future – Discovering the Ocean Current,” the focus was particularly on the world’s oceans. There were lively discussions, thematic work in the nine workshops, new friendships were formed, and participants had the opportunity to get to know the city of Greifswald and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania through many cultural events and excursions.

🛒 Unter dem Motto “Lost in Consumption? Rethinking Economy” wurde sich beim Greifswald International Students Festival 2014 mit den Themen “Konsum und Wirtschaft” beschäftigt, die stets in einem engen Zusammenhang stehen. So wurde zusammen mit den Teilnehmenden unsere Rolle als Konsumenten intensiv beleuchtet, denn für viele Menschen in Europa scheint inzwischen der Konsum zum Lebensmittelpunkt und einzigen Weg zu persönlichem Glück geworden zu sein. Auch die Folgen dessen wurde durch verschiedene Input Lectures und Workshops diskutiert.

[EN] 🛒 Held under the motto “Lost in Consumption? Rethinking Economy,” the 2014 Greifswald International Students Festival focused on the themes of “consumption and the economy”—two concepts that are strongly linked. Together with the participants, we engaged in an intensive examination of our role as consumers; because, for many people in Europe today, consumption appears to have become the central focus of life and the sole path to personal happiness. The consequences of this phenomenon were also explored through a series of input lectures and workshops.

‼️🪩🥳 Wir wären nicht gristuf., wenn wir uns nicht eine Alternative einfallen lassen würden. Da der Disco-Biergarten heute wortwörtlich ins Wasser fällt, sehen wir uns dafür am Samstag (23.05.2026) im STRAZE-Biergarten .in.greifswald — Ab 17 Uhr heißt es dann: kühle Getränke, gute Musik & nette Leute!

[EN] ‼️🪩🥳 Well, we wouldn’t be gristuf. if we weren’t able to provide an alternative! Because of the unfortunate circumstances presented by the weather, today’s beer garden will sadly not happen — BUT we’ll see each other on Saturday (May 23rd) at the STRAZE beer garden! So come around at 5pm for cold drinks, good music and amazing people!

‼️ Auch im Jahr 2012 fand wieder mal ein Greifswald International Students Festival statt. Unter dem Motto “FACE to FACE paving the way for a non-violent society” haben sich vom 16.06.2012 bis 24.06.2012 150 Teilnehmende von allen Kontinenten mit dem Thema “Gewalt” auseinandergesetzt, um sich den Herausforderungen und Fragen unserer Zeit zu stellen.
Auch wenn das Wort “Gewalt” auf den ersten Blick ungewohnt für ein Festivalthema scheint, ist die Erfahrung und somit der Umgang der Menschen mit Gewalt in unterschiedlichen Formen durch sämtliche Kulturen und Gesellschaften unserer Erde allgegenwärtig. Die Workshops “Non-violent communication”, “Media and Violence”, “No Violence, No Victims”, “Non-violent and violent Resistance”, “How to found a shelter for battered women”, “Violence in Resource Conflicts” und “Violence in Interreligious Conflicts” boten den Studierenden zahlreiche Perspektiven und Möglichkeiten für einen ausgewogenen Austausch.

[EN] ‼️ The Greifswald International Students Festival took place again in 2012. Under the motto “FACE to FACE paving the way for a non-violent society”, 150 participants from all continents explored the topic of “violence” from June 16th to 24th, 2012, in order to confront the challenges and questions of our time.
Even though the word “violence” might seem unusual for a festival theme at first glance, the experience of, and thus the way people deal with, violence in its various forms is omnipresent across all cultures and societies on Earth. The workshops “Non-violent communication,” “Media and Violence,” “No Violence, No Victims,” “Non-violent and violent Resistance,” “How to found a shelter for battered women,” “Violence in Resource Conflicts,” and “Violence in Interreligious Conflicts” offered the students numerous perspectives and opportunities for a balanced exchange.

🌍🍽️ Neues Semester, neues Festival, neues Running Dinner! Und ganz im Sinne des GrIStuF 2026 schlemmt ihr euch dieses Mal am 19.06.2026 um die Welt. Unter dem Motto “Pan-National - Die Welt in deiner Pfanne!” dürft ihr selbst etwas kreieren, bei anderen genießen und vielleicht auch ein paar coole Leute kennenlernen.
💡 Wie funktioniert’s? Running Dinner bedeutet, dass ihr an einem Abend verschiedene Gänge, jeweils in unterschiedlichen Wohnungen in Greifswald einnehmt. Einen Gang kocht ihr und für zwei werdet ihr bekocht. Dazu meldet ihr euch in 2er oder 3er Teams an. Nach der Anmeldung erfahrt ihr welchen Gang ihr kocht, sowie welche Teams zu euch kommen und zu welchen Teams der Weg euch führt. Zu jedem Gang speisen immer 3 Teams zusammen.
Jedes Running Dinner steht unter einem Motto, an dem sich für die Gänge und das Setting orientiert werden darf.

[EN] 🌍🍽️ New semester, new festival, new Running Dinner! And in keeping with the spirit of GrIStuF 2026, this time on June 19, 2026, you’ll feast your way around the world. Under the motto “Pan-National - The World in Your Pan!”, you can create something yourself, enjoy others’ dishes, and maybe even meet some cool people.
💡 How does it work? During the running dinner you’ll enjoy different courses throughout one evening, each at a different apartment in Greifswald. You’ll cook one course and two will be served. You’ll sign up in teams of two or three. After registering, you’ll find out which course you’ll be cooking, as well as which teams will be joining you and which teams you’ll be joining. Three teams will always dine together for each course.
Each Running Dinner has a theme that can be used to guide the courses and the setting.
You can register with your group on our website!

🪩🍺 Na hömma, das ist doch toll! Kühle Getränke, coole Musik und riesige Vorfreude aufs Festival – das ist unser Disco-Biergarten!
