Thank you, thank you, thank you!
We are still speechless, enchanted and moved, and need a little time to process our emotions before we can truly put what we experienced into words. So many beautiful, heart-warming, funny and touching moments that linger and leave us with a warm, comforting feeling. Every helping hand, whether planned or unplanned, every empowering word, beaming face or firm hug. All of this made possible what we’d wished for so much – a fitting final farewell, with all its rough edges, whilst at the same time wishing that Sunday would never end.
At the same time, the road to this year’s Chimaera was also an exhausting one. Financial uncertainty, internal awareness-raising processes, marketing campaigns and a significant, tangible deficit from last year meant that the outcome of this year’s Chimaera – and with it the association’s solvency – was entirely in your hands, because we were convinced that you believed in us.
We want to say thank you for carrying us through! Thank you for your trust, your support, your energy, and for choosing non-commercial, deep culture – and for helping us shape this space and bring it to life. Thank you to everyone who, in any way, helped to make these days so special – whether through artistic, culinary, broom-swinging or any other form of support. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, counts and is essential to creating precisely this microcosm in which we are so grateful to have found ourselves once again.
In every single moment of this year’s Chimaera, we were grateful that we’d taken the risk. We can’t tell you just yet what comes next, but we can promise that things will carry on in some form or another. For now, we need some rest, some space and evaluation meetings. But of course, we’re still very keen to hear your feedback, comments, funny stories or anything else you’d like to get off your chest. In the coming days, we’ll post a survey here, because your opinion is incredibly important to us.
You are Chimaera to us, and it’s only with you that we’ll carry on!
You’ll be hearing from us very soon.
Yours, the Chimaeras
