The useful life of coffee grounds don't end when we consume our beverage...

The process of getting a cup of coffee at home is fascinating, from the seed development to the de gasificación step after roasting the beans.

But it is also fascinating what we could do with coffee grounds, a lot of research has been done to figure it out the composition of this material, and possibly uses that can contribute to keep in the loop the CO2 generated it in the coffee production.

Today after drying our coffee grounds, let us start this wonderful research journey with a 200Gr sample ☕☑️.

Coffee meets science.

This picture was taken as part of several Workshops we have been carrying out in public universities in Europe for the last year.

Where we have been sharing a scientific approach of roasting process, carbon footprint along the value chain of this commodity, circular economy and added value in the source where specialty coffee is produced in Latin America.

We are very grateful with universities and students to open the doors for us to embrace these topics. Is an honor to see different disciplines like engineering, economy, Sustainability, and many more comming together to discuss about coffee.

Also to see how the shift in consumption behavior can have several impacts in Innovation, production and Sustainability in the coffee sector.

Trying new roast profiles today in Switzerland

And exploring opportunities 🇨🇭

When exploring new markets, first we make sure we get to know very close our customers, people in different countries and even in different cities have their preferences when it comes to notes, roasting level, acidity and more.

Next Thursday we are going to be part of the "Sustainable week" organize by Rheinland-Pfalz in cooperation with universities from Birkenfeld, Landau, Kaiserslautern and Koblenz.

Our workshop will include four stations:

1. Sustainable production in the source and traceability technologies.
2. Roasting process and thermodynamics of coffee beans development.
3. Tasting coffee of specialty Colombian beans.
4. Upcycling process of coffee grounds and product development.

SGD's involve will be displayed in all stations.

We are very looking forward to see you all, registration can be done at .sl, this workshop will be also in online format.

We spent the time talking about new trends, checking out new brewing, roasting and grinder machines, learning about how the quality of water affects the brewing in the coffee, learning about roasting profiles with a scientific perspective and sharing wonderful experiences with wonderfull people.

In this opportunity we are trying a banana bread made from a coffee fibre produced in Denmark by , a company that has been unlocking the potential uses of coffee grounds applying circular economy after we drink our favorite beverage.
