Hoch-, Weit-, Drei- und Stabhochsprung der Spitzenklasse ! Made in Überruhr 💚💛 Seit 2019 findet auch der Dreisprung seinen Platz im Wettkampf.

Der Tag der Überflieger ist ein neuer, hochklassiger Sprungwettkampf in der Essener Leichtathletik und findet erstmalig 2017 statt. Im Hauptaugenmerk stehen Hoch- und Weitsprung der Nachwuchsspitzenklasse mit deutschen und ausländischen Athletinnen und Athleten. Das Vorprogramm bietet aber auch noch Hoch- und Weitsprung für den regionalen Nachwuchs.

The Cuban athlete arrives with a personal best of 17.40 meters.

In 2023, he won the bronze medal at the World Championships. Back in 2017, he finished fourth at the World Championships and continued his international success from his junior years:
a silver medal at the U20 World Championships and a gold medal at the U18 World Championships.

We are excited to see how he performs at the end of June here in Essen.

Léon Schäfer is one of the top para-athletes at

He is one of the most famous Paralympic long jumpers. He finished fourth in 2024 and won silver in 2021.
He has already won World Championship gold three times, in 2019, 2023, and 2024🥇
In total, he has competed in the World Championships five times. We are thrilled to welcome him to Kennedyplatz in Essen for the second time 💪🏽

is one of the strongest athletes in our pole vault field. With a personal best of 4.75 m set in April 2026, she currently leads the field. She’s in great shape 👍🏼📈

She finished fifth at the last Indoor World Championships and won the NCAA in 2022.

This is her first competition in Germany. Let’s make sure she never forgets it and lets her feel the magic.

The Polish high jumper has been one of his country’s top athletes for years: a three-time Polish champion with a personal best of an impressive 2.30 m.

Internationally, he recently impressed with a 7th-place finish at the 2026 World Indoor Championships and a 4th-place finish at the 2025 World University Games. He had already made a name for himself in the junior ranks with a bronze medal at the 2021 U20 World Championships and a silver medal at the 2021 U20 European Championships.

Last year, she stirred up a lot of excitement in downtown Essen. Her incredible 14.45-meter jump at our event marked the start of another successful season. She competed in the University Games and was part of the European Team Championships in Madrid. She capped off the season by winning the German national title and finishing 10th at the World Championships.

Let’s watch together as she continues to write her story. We’re ready for spectacular jumps and excitement.

Jovanna was once an active long jumper herself and won the first day of the Überflieger 2017 in the women’s division. After that, she remained part of the meet for several years as an athlete and is now in her fourth year as a sponsor. Jovanna supports active and former elite athletes in the areas of finance and post-career planning!

Her journey at the „Tage der Überflieger“ began early on: in 2022, she placed 7th in the youth competition, and by 2023 she had already fought her way to a bronze medal 🥉 – and even back then, she was determined to compete in the women’s division one day.

Now the Swedish high jumper is returning exactly there—and after an absolutely stellar 2025: double Swedish champion (indoor & outdoor), silver at the U23 European Championships, and bronze at the European Indoor Championships 💥

With her personal best of 1.94 m, we are very excited to welcome .nilsson back to Essen.

He arrives in Essen with a personal best of an impressive 8.27 m. has made his mark on the international stage with achievements including a bronze medal at the 2021 European Championships and a ninth-place finish at the 2021 Olympic Games.
