connecting cottbus (coco) is an East West co-production market during FilmFestival Cottbus focussing on Eastern European cinema.

connecting cottbus is the East-West co-production market at the FilmFestival Cottbus for fiction feature film projects in development (cocoPITCH) and works in progress (cocoWIP) from broader Eastern Europe. This years edition takes place from the 3rd-5th of November 2021. We select ten feature film projects and four Work in Progress that are presented to a professional audience of experienced prod

ucers, buyers, commissioning editors, world sales, and financiers. coco supports many exciting East West co-productions and offers a network between Eastern and Western Europe.

We are very proud to share that coco alum The Lion At My Back by Tonia Mishiali will have its World Premiere in the Official Selection of the Crystal Globe Competition at Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, 3-11 July 2026. 💥
The film is a co-production between Cyprus, Luxemburg, and Greece, produced by Bark Like A Cat Films (Cyprus), Iris Productions (Luxembourg), and Avaton Films (Greece).

💸FILM FINANCING IN POLAND
- an online session for German-speaking producers

A dedicated online session for German-speaking producers on film financing opportunities in Poland will take place online
👉 Monday, 4 May 2026 from 10:00-11:30.

This session will provide a comprehensive introduction to the Polish public funding system, with a particular focus on minority co-productions. The meeting will be led by producer Marta Krzeptowska, who will present funding structures and practical insights directly relevant to international collaboration between Germany and Poland.

The session is designed specifically for German producers interested in working with Polish partners and navigating the Polish funding landscape effectively.
