FilmPolska ist das größte polnische Filmfestival außerhalb Polens und fester Bestandteil des Berliner Festivalkalenders. 2026 fand es zum 21. Mal statt.
Auch dieses Jahr war das FilmFestival Cottbus mit dabei: mit der Präsentation von Maciej Sobieszczańskis BROTHER, der 2025 im Jugendfilmwettbewerb des FFC lief, sowie mit der „New Talents“-Pitching Session, bei der aktuelle Projekte von Absolvent*innen der Warschauer Wajda School vorgestellt wurden.
Das ist auch ein Ausblick aufs kommende FFC: gemeinsam mit der Wajda School wird es eine Hommage an den polnischen Kult-Regisseur geben, Regie-Studierende aus Polen und Deutschland fragen nach der Bedeutung von Wajdas Erbe für das heutige Kino – und Maciej Sobieszczański wird Teil der Jury sein sowie mit zwei Filmen im Programm vertreten.

FilmPolska is the largest Polish film festival outside of Poland and a fixture on Berlin’s festival calendar. In 2026, it took place for the 21st time.
The Cottbus Film Festival was also part of the event this year, presenting Maciej Sobieszczański’s BROTHER, which screened in the FFC’s Youth Film Competition in 2025, as well as the “New Talents” pitching session, where current projects by graduates of the Wajda School in Warsaw were showcased.
This also offers a preview of the upcoming FFC: in collaboration with the Wajda School, there will be a tribute to the iconic Polish director; directing students from Poland and Germany will explore the significance of Wajda’s legacy for contemporary cinema — and Maciej Sobieszczański will serve on the jury and have two films featured in the program.
