❗️Important Information about KDC 2025❗️(Please read carefully)
Dear KDC Family, today, I am reaching out with an important decision - one that was incredibly difficult for me to make.
Over the past months our current venue had serious problems with the neighbors according to the sound & noises during events.
In the last weeks I’ve engaged in extensive discussions with venue management, business partners, other organizers and some artists to explore every possible solution.
Together with my team, I have build up a brand and concept over there last 5-6 years that was based on the familiar atmosphere of our lovely venue.
With the current situation it is impossible to organize a festival responsible & reliable in a community in which the music relies on the base.
THE DECISION - After thorough deliberation and an exhaustive search for alternative venues - none of which were suitable, affordable, or large enough - I have made the difficult decision to cancel KDC in September 2025 and temporarily pause the KDC project.
WHY DECIDE SO EARLY? While I initially considered delaying this decision, there are two key reasons why I chose to act now:
1. Respect for Artists: Many artists work full-time in the industry and rely on secure bookings. Unfortunately, it has become increasingly common for organizers to cancel events at the last minute, often without proper communication or payment. This makes it difficult for artists to secure new bookings on short notice. I have informed them immediately after I have made the decision a few weeks ago - as a gesture of respect and professionalism. As an Organizer I have the responsibility to provide artists with the security and reliability they deserve. Which means I have to give them the chance to receive new bookings as soon as possible.
2. Ticket Sales: Ticket sales for KDC 2025 would have needed to launch by January at the latest. Given the current uncertainties, starting sales at this time would feel irresponsible & ethically not correct.
WHATS NEXT? When KDC will return in the future remains uncertain. It depends on whether the venue’s situation stabilizes or if a suitable new location can be found - one that matches with our concept.
CHANCE & OPPORTUNITY - KDC has become my little baby. Nobody - not even me thought we would get so far. I sacrificed my private life a lot for this project, including my own mental & physical health.
I take this break as a chance of opportunity to:
…. recharge my own batteries,
…. find step by step together with my team a new location,
…. and develop this project and myself as much as possible.
It doesn’t feel correct to forcibly adjust this project to a new venue that doesn’t match the concept at all. That would lead only to disappointment to participants that where used to a different atmosphere.
CLOSING THOUGHTS - I understand that this decision may cause disappointment. Please know that it was not made lightly, and it pains me deeply to take this step. However, I see no alternative at this very moment.
I want to shout out a BIG THANK YOU to all ARTISTS that have been booked already for 2025 & 2026. Your understanding words, your motivation to keep on working with me and your promise to support me in anyway meant the world to me.
I also want to THANK the venue management, my team & business partners for having my back, other organizers that believe in my work and want to involve me immediately in their projects and of course to all participants that have been with us over the last years.
AND I THANK everybody for letting me grow personally & professionally within this project. I have never been perfect, I do mistakes, I reflect on it, I learn from it & I develop and grow from it. Thank you for this experience.
