🎬 New Award for Documentary Series Projects!

In 2027, the European Film Market (EFM) launches the new EFM Doc Series Pitch Award, recognising an outstanding documentary series project presented at the EFM Doc Series Pitch.

Up to 10 projects from around the world will get the chance to pitch their projects and connect with potential co-production, financing, commissioning and distribution partners during EFM in February 2027.

🏆 The EFM Doc Series Pitch Award, endowed with €5,000, will honour the project that stands out in the pitch for its creative and documentary potential. The award is donated by Haus des Dokumentarfilms e.V. (HDF) in Stuttgart.
The jury will be chaired by Eric Friedler, CEO of Haus des Dokumentarfilms.

New in 2027: Books at Berlinale Pro

Celebrating 20 years of Books at Berlinale, the programme enters its next chapter with three pitching sessions for international book-to-screen IP across Fiction, Family Entertainment and Narrative Non-Fiction.

📚 Call for Fiction  10 selected books with potential for fiction film adaptation.

🎨 Call for Family Entertainment 10 selected books with potential for animation or live-action adaptation.

🎥 Call for Non-Fiction 5 selected books with potential for documentary series adaptation.

All three pitching sessions take place during the Berlinale market days in February 2027.
Jointly presented by Frankfurter Buchmesse, the Berlinale Co-Production Market and the European Film Market, Books at Berlinale Pro connects publishers, literary agents and rights holders with international producers and industry professionals through pitching, meetings, matchmaking and networking.
