at Haus der Kulturen der Welt In 2019 Miss Read featured 300+ exhibitors.

Since 2009, Miss Read: The Berlin Art Book Fair brings together a wide selection of the most interesting artists/authors, artist periodicals and art publishers and is accompanied by a series of lectures, discussions, book launches and workshops exploring the boundaries of contemporary publishing and the possibilities of the book. In conjunction, the Conceptual Poetics Day explores the imaginary border between visual art and literature. Miss Read: The Berlin Art Book Fair is organized by Yaiza Camps, Moritz Grünke and Michalis Pichler supported by Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin.

After two quiet weeks of recovery, we’re finally ready to say:

WHAT A MISS READ 2026!

We’re still recovering, both physically and mentally, from such an intense, beautiful, and unexpectedly hot weekend (and week, thanks to our pre-fair with Station of Commons). A special thank you to everyone who joined us despite the heatwave.

Exhibitors from all over the world came together to share, discuss, exchange, and celebrate everything related to books, publications, and publishing practices. What a truly bibliodiverse weekend!

We’ll be sharing more photos soon, but for now we simply want to say THANK YOU.

Thank you to all the exhibitors for bringing and sharing your incredible work despite the heatwave. Thank you to all the visitors for your curiosity and for stopping by. Thank you to everyone who took part in the public program for your ideas, conversations, music, and presence. Thank you to .green for hosting us and making us feel so welcome during this first wonderful year of collaboration. And thank you to our volunteers. You make this fair happen.

We are thrilled to present our Sunday program at MISS READ! The fair opens at 12pm, with events throughout the day on the MISS READ Stage (Studio 2, upstairs from Betonhalle at .green).

At 12pm, join the book launch of “Zenit” by Shirin Sabahi, with Vijai Maia Patchineelam and Manuel Raeder, moderated by Elena Malzew (BOM DIA BOA TARDE BOA NOITE). Together, they will discuss Sabahi’s latest publication and the collaborative processes behind it.

At 2pm, “Follow the Tidal” brings together zug press and shushushushu books for a book launch and discussion on independent photobook publishing, artistic networks, and the cross-cultural circulation of publications across Asia, Europe, and North America.

At 3pm, Markus Krieger (ARCH+) presents ARCH+, Germany’s leading magazine for discourse on architecture, urbanism, and spatial practices, offering insights into its editorial approach and recent publications.

At 4pm, attend the launch of the first English translation of Władysław Strzemiński’s “Theory of Seeing”, with Daniel Muzyczuk, Director of Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź, the museum co-founded by Strzemiński in 1930. The discussion explores one of the key theoretical texts of twentieth-century art.

At 5pm, microutopías presents recent publications through a collective reading of texts on poetic-political practices of dissident production in South America. Moderated by Darío Marroche, with Lucía Tieff, Florencia Gómez de Salazar, Sonia Preisler, and Nino Bulling.

And finally, at 6pm, join Moses März (Mittel und Zweck, Chimurenga) for a presentation and discussion of the map-making process behind “Chimurenga Chronic: Brandfort, Liberation Capital [1977–86]”, exploring cartography, publishing, and liberation histories.

☀️⚠️ Due to the extreme temperatures forecast for this weekend, we’d like to reassure everyone that the fair is going ahead as planned. 🙌

The fair takes place in the Betonhalle at .green, an underground venue that is expected to remain significantly cooler than outside. This exhibition hall is located two floors underground and has a ventilation system, which will mainly run in the mornings and evenings to bring in cooler air, and will be switched off during the day to prevent hot air from entering. The ateliers, where the talks will take place, are air-conditioned, and two tents will be set up on the lawn to provide additional shade.

Drinking water will be available at both Mars and Little Mars (the restaurant and café at silent green), where you can refill your bottles.

Please stay hydrated, wear sunscreen when you’re outdoors, take breaks when needed, and we look forward to welcoming you this weekend! 📚✨🫰The fair starts tomorrow, Friday 26, at 5pm!

We’re beyond excited to welcome you to MISS READ this Friday, June 26th, at .green! 🎉

Kicking off at 5pm, the fair opens its doors to a world of fantastic exhibitors ready to share their publications and artworks with you!

Join us at 7pm at the MISS READ Stage (Studio 2) for “Forms of Migration: Global Perspectives on Im/migrant Art and Literature”. Moderated by Stefan Maneval (), this program brings together Aya Sammani, Sascha Thoma (), Thaer Ayoub , Mati Shemoelof , and Wendy M. K. Shaw for an evening of readings, talks, conversation, and multimedia performance.

Based on the Forms of Migration book series published by Falschrum Books, the event explores how art and literature shape our understanding of migration and challenge common perceptions of im/migrant experiences.

Various artists and authors will present their contributions, reflecting the variety of forms of expression included in the two volumes.

Aya Sammani will read The Road, Longer than the Journey Itself, the story of a breath-taking escape on the back of a pickup truck on its way through the desert.

The Berlin-based design studio Eps51 will present their multilingual and multiscriptural design practice, as well as their design concept for the Forms of Migration series.

Thaer Ayoub will read Ich heimate mich hier / I now home myself here, a poem on the ambiguity and hybridity of im/migrant belonging.

Mati Shemoelof will read a selection of poems gathered under the topic of Yiddish Sound, Deutsche Words, followed by a conversation on the “new syncretic linguistic realities” of our time.

Wendy M. K. Shaw will perform Migrations, juxtaposing the global history of migration with current attempts to obstruct transnational migration movements in a poetic reading accompanied by a slide show.

The evening continues with a conversation on writing, collaboration, transdisciplinary working methods, and independent publishing.

Walk Notations: A Reading in Motion
Meeting point: in front of silent green
Mahshid Mahboubifar, Natthapong Samakkaew, Suelen Calonga, and Saverio Cantoni, moderated by Luise Leon Elbern and Viviane Tabach (ReRouting/Cruising Curators), invite participants on a performative reading and walk. Readings from Walk Notations (nGbK, 2025) lead beyond the fair and into the public space surrounding silent green, turning playgrounds, streets, squares, and rooftops into temporary collective reading rooms.

In times that pull us apart, the pre-fair is thought as a ground for building publics, commoning and asking which tools and social practices can keep us together.

Today:

BAZAR Art Books is an Iran-based platform dedicated to the exhibition and distribution of art books. Founded in 2018 by artists Ronak Moshtaghi and Hedieh Ahmadi, the project approaches self-publishing and art book fairs as dynamic formats for building an independent and inclusive cultural community — one in which everyone contributes and helps sustain the collective experience.

BAZAR is an artist-run, independent platform that relies on the voluntary work of its community and collaborations with various host venues.

Its activities include organizing an annual three-day fair in Tehran, participating in international art book fairs, creating and maintaining a local archive of artistic publications, and offering related workshops throughout Iran.

In 2026 BAZAR Art Books published its first publication “Zamin o Zaman” bringing together fifty-three drawings by fifty-six Iranian artists.

We are happy to announce that the Poster of Conceptual Poetics Day 2026 is created by yabeautdi10 .

yabeautdi10 is a Thai q***r zine maker who loves to combine writing and visual work. Using collage and printed paper textures, they tell stories through their work. They are part of a small zine collective based in Bangkok called ‘The Basement TH’ and run a small public library with friends in Chiang Mai under the collective name ‘Slash and Burn’. They are interested in various media as a way to explore and express themselves, and to bring people together through zines and posters for local events.
