Anushka Chkheidze x Daniel Adikashvili (Live)

Emotional pads, intricate textures, and live drums with breaks, moving between ambient depth and rhythmic intensity.

Anushka Chkheidze is one of the leading voices of Georgia’s contemporary electronic scene. Blending ambient, IDM, electroacoustic composition. Her immersive sonic landscapes combine delicate melodies, rich textures, and intricate rhythmic structures, creating deeply emotional and cinematic listening experiences.

Joining her on stage is Daniel Adikashvili, a live jazz drummer, improviser, and one of the co-founders of Jazz Club 1984 in Tbilisi, a cornerstone of Georgia’s contemporary jazz scene. Drawing from a wide range of influences across jazz, experimental, electronic, and contemporary music, Adikashvili brings a distinctive rhythmic language that balances precision, spontaneity, and expressive depth.

Charlie. is a DJ from Beirut, now based in Berlin. Her sound is relentless, driving techno, both mentally captivating and physically intense, always edged
with groove.

Early on, she immersed herself in the archives of underground ‘90s producers, a deep dive that shaped the foundations of her musical identity. This path led
her to embrace the raw energy of purist techno, a sound that deeply resonates with her artistic vision.
Her first experiences behind the decks took place at
warehouse raves on the outskirts of Paris, a defining moment that fueled her passion and naturally led her to Berlin.

Since settling in the German capital, Charlie. has played in renowned venues such as Tresor, Radion, C12, and more. Constantly pushing sonic exploration,
she continues to refine her craft, captivating audiences with her bold and distinctive approach.

With influences spanning eras and genres, and a creative energy shaped by diverse musical roots, Charlie. is part of a new wave of artists redefining the global electronic music landscape.

The main characters of Melancholy of Freedom are families and individuals from different age groups who left Hungary at different times and for different reasons to continue their lives in Berlin. Viewed in a broader context, the series reflects on the many waves of Hungarian emigration across generations: while some left in search of better opportunities or personal freedom, others were driven by an increasingly shrinking social and political space at home.

Since the beginning of this project, however, Hungary’s political landscape has undergone a historic transformation. The governmental change that many had once considered unimaginable inevitably alters the context in which these images are viewed. Yet the emotional and personal consequences of emigration do not disappear with a political turning point. The experience of leaving — and the distance, uncertainty, longing, relief, guilt, and freedom embedded within it — often continues long after the circumstances that once triggered it have changed.

As the title suggests, emigration is fraught with contradictions, not necessarily and not always fulfilling the promise of the life we imagine for ourselves. Through this work, I aspire to understand who is willing to undertake this simultaneously liberating and melancholic experience, and why and how they do so.
In the photo series, Berlin appears as a symbolic setting: a city of freedom and a metaphor for the contrast between East and West — a Western city where the monuments of the communist past remain visible within an ever-changing present.

You can see the project in R100 between 04.06.-06.06. ✨

Franciska Legát (1997, Budapest, Hungary) is a Budapest-based photographer. In 2024, she graduated from the Moholy-Nagy University of Arts with a Master of Photography. She spent a semester in Germany at the HSBI Bielefeld and in the Netherlands at HKU, Utrecht.  After finishing her studies, she spent her traineeship in Berlin, working in the Bildband photobook store as an assistant.

As an artist, she is primarily concerned with social issues that have a significant impact on her life.
Absurdity and a kind of peculiar black humour play an important role in her works. Her photos are mostly staged, but by using an unusual documentary approach, her purpose is to blur the line between fiction and reality.

Selected works of her project, Melancholy of Freedom will be on view in R100 during our festival ✨

The duo Machineries is a collaboration between synthesizer sorceresses Mustelide and Chikiss, who conjure their machines to craft soundscapes of electro-baroque and dystopian fantasy fiction.

The concept took root after discovering the 1984 book "The Creative Computer" abandoned on the streets of Berlin, which is dedicated to proto-AI technologies, but in a more romantic and human way. Touching visual canvases and poems composed by the machines of that era inspired the artists to turn to the machines of this time for new stories.

A kind of synthesis of the past & future, a scenario of cosmic chaos, krautrock passages, and web-disco revelations.
