The full programme and schedule of 2026 including its Community Week are released!

The 63rd edition of the festival runs from 29 October to 1 November 2026 at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele and in its neighbouring venues Jazz Club A-Trane, QUASIMODO Berlin, Gedächtniskirche. In total, over 130 artists from more than 25 countries, including international voices from the Berlin scene, are coming together to celebrate the global jazz community.
In cooperation with 15 local initiatives from Moabit the Jazzfest Community Week presents eight neighbourhood concerts across six venues, a creative music workshop by Anthony Braxton for students from JIB Jazz-Institut Berlin, two workshops for children, a seminar, a decolonial city tour and film screenings.

Advance ticket sales start on 17 September, 14:00.

Cassandra Wilson, one of the most influential and celebrated voices in American jazz, has passed away. The two-time Grammy winner helped shape the course of jazz over several decades.

The experimental short film “DREAM BABY DREAM“ premiered at the LIMINALDance Film Festival in Washington, D.C., where it received the IN Series Counterpoint Award. In June 2026, the film also won the Best Artist Film (Short) Award at the Berlin Indie Film Festival.

The line-up for this year’s is out now!

The 63rd edition of Jazzfest Berlin, which runs from 29 October – 1 November 2026, will present over 130 international musicians from more than 25 countries in 24 acts at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele and in its neighbouring venus Jazz Club A-Trane, QUASIMODO Berlin and the .

Jazzfest Community Week kicks off on Monday, 26 October, in Moabit.

The full programme will be announced on 10 September. Advance ticket sales start 17 September, 14.00.

We are happy that the experimental short film “Dream Baby Dream”, which was produced as part of the 2025, is set to be screened at further events!

On 20 June 2026, 17:30 at Jazzwoche #8 by IG Jazz Berlin there will be a screening, followed by the panel “Improvising collective change: Jazz, Demokratie und tragfähige Strukturen” featuring Nadin Deventer (Artistic Director of Jazzfest Berlin) at 18:00.

The American jazz saxophonist and composer Sonny Rollins has passed away at the age of 95. Rollins was widely regarded as one of the greatest tenor saxophonists in jazz history. For more than seven decades, he shaped modern jazz with his unmistakable tone and extraordinary improvisational skills. He performed at Jazzfest Berlin in 1965, 1966, and 1974.

Miles Davis feierte ihn als »größten Tenorsaxofonisten aller Zeiten«, Barack Obama ließ sich von seinem Mut inspirieren. Nun ist der Jazzmusiker Sonny Rollins mit 95 Jahren gestorben.

The German vibraphonist, pianist, woodwind player and composer Gunter Hampel passed away at the age of 89.
A co-founder of free jazz in Europe, he was one of the most influential German jazz musicians of the post-war era and unafraid of new ideas or musical boundaries. He performed at the Jazzfest Berlin in 1966, 1971, 1972, 1978, 1983, and 2007. During the 2007 Jazzfest, he was awarded the German Jazz Prize (Albert Mangelsdorff Award) at Haus der Berliner Festspiele.

Er war ein Paradiesvogel des Jazz, einer, der durch viele Stile flügelte, mit US-Größen wie Thelonious Monk, Benny Goodman und Jimi Hendrix spielte. Am 19. Mai ist der Vibrafonist, Pianist, Holzbläser und Komponist Gunter Hampel im Alter von 89 Jahren verstorben.

“DREAM BABY DREAM” has won the Counterpoint Award at the Liminal Dance Film Festival in Washington, D.C.

The Film was realised as part of 2025, celebrated its world premiere as one of 70 selected films from 18 countries at the LIMINALDance Film Festival.
