🎸 THE PUB RUN CLUB IS COMING TO PUTNEY! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

We’re incredibly excited to announce that The Pub Run Club is coming to Putney, partnering with the legendary Half Moon Putney — one of London’s most iconic live music venues.

Think about the names that have graced that stage: The Who, U2, The Rolling Stones, Ed Sheeran, Kasabian and so many more. Their performances have helped create the incredible history of this venue.

Now, it’s our turn to add a little something to that story. 🍸

We’ll be teaming up with Young's Pubs and Estrella Damm to create a new running experience — riverside views, great music and, of course, fantastic socials afterwards.

📅 FIRST TEST RUN

Tuesday 22nd September — 7:00PM

Then, from October, we’ll be launching officially:

🏃 EVERY THURSDAY — 7PM

📍 The Half Moon, Putney

This is for everyone, it doesn’t matter if your just getting started or simply fancy getting out, meeting some great people and having a laugh — you’re welcome.

Have Fun. Get Fit. Be Social.

Come and be part of something special.

Some of you may know him, some of you may not… but this guy is the co-founder of The Pub Run Club. 🍻🏃‍♂️

You might not see him at every run, but he is still very much involved behind the scenes — usually making decisions, throwing ideas around and helping shape the direction of the club… often while sitting in the car on the way home from work! 😂

He might not always be there in person, but his influence on what we do and where we’re going is still a massive part of the club.

So today, it’s only right that we give him a little shout-out…

Happy Birthday Carl Barthram 🎉🥳

Hope you have a fantastic day.

THIS IS PROBABLY THE MOST BORING POST WE’LL EVER WRITE…

But it’s an important one.

A lot of people support Pub Run Club by coming along, buying tickets, donating, sponsoring us or simply sharing what we do.

And while we love spending money on making our events bigger, better and more fun, a chunk of that support goes towards the boring stuff that keeps Pub Run Club actually running.

Things like…

🔊 Replacing a broken speaker
🔋 Batteries and charging equipment
🛠️ Replacing things that inevitably get broken, lost or worn out
🏃‍♀️ Insurance

That speaker at the front of the run?
It doesn’t magically fix itself.

The truth is, without the people who support Pub Run Club, we simply couldn’t keep doing what we do.

Every ticket bought.
Every donation.
Every sponsor.
Every person who shares a post.
Every person who turns up and brings a mate.

It all helps. 🍸

So yes… this is a boring post.

But hopefully it gives you a little insight into where the money goes and why your support genuinely matters.

We’re incredibly proud that Pub Run Club isn’t just a running club.

It’s a community.

And you’re the reason we can keep the speakers on, the music playing and the runs happening every week. 🔊🏃‍♀️🍸

Some evenings stay with you. ❤️

Yesterday was one of those evenings.

We took the Pub Run Club to Kingston Mencapkingston and that reminded us why we started this community in the first place.

It wasn’t about how fast anyone could run. It wasn’t about distance, pace or hitting a PB. It was about being inclusive and sharing an experience.

But most of all It was about people.

It was about getting together, having a fun, getting fit, being social, making sure everyone felt part of something.

Last night the smiles said it all.

Seeing people getting involved of all abilities along with encouraging each other was special to say the least. Kingston Mencap creates space for people with disabilities to build friendships, enjoy activities and be safe and part of their local community — and we feel incredibly lucky to have been to join in. ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone and Martel for letting us spend the evening with you. I would like to thank Niamh Ollerton for organising.

We left with smiles on our faces and a reminder that the best runs aren’t always about pace.

Sometimes they’re measured in smiles not miles.

Have Fun. Get Fit. Be Social. ❤️

Could just be another photo from a run club…

But this one signifies so much more. ❤️

Tonight was a run leader making a comeback — although, I wasn’t the one leading from the front.

And that got me thinking…

Can you be the slowest runner and still be a run leader?

Absolutely.

Because leadership isn’t about being the fastest. It isn’t about being at the front. Sometimes, it’s simply about having the courage to turn up when you’re not sure you can.

Tonight, I stuck my hand up to carry the speaker.

It might sound like nothing, but honestly, I was worried. I’ve had a tough time with running over the past year and getting back too speaker duties took more courage than I probably let on.

But I did it.

And with the support of the Get Fit Group, we made it to the end. They got me through. 🙌

Around 4 minutes faster than last week. 5K in the bag with the speaker for the first time in a year.

But tonight wasn’t about the time, the pace or the distance.

It was about turning up.

It was about giving it a go.

It was about being surrounded by people who don’t judge, don’t make a fuss and don’t care how fast you are.

They just help you get it done.

And that’s exactly what the Pub Run Club is about.

Sometimes you lead.

Sometimes you follow.

Sometimes you’re the one who needs everyone else to get you over the line.

And that’s OK.

No fuss. No judgement. Just getting it done.

Sometimes the biggest achievement is simply showing up. ❤️

Have Fun. Get Fit. Be Social. 🏃‍♂️🍸

FIRST 5K SINCE APRIL

And honestly… it feels SO good to be back.

This time feels different though.

I’ve been following a strength training plan from Jasmine Davis at Uplift Wandsworth | Small Group & 1-1 Personal Training with two sessions on the board, and alongside that I’m currently 8KG down. There’s still a long way to go, but I’m making progress — and for me, that’s what matters.

I’m getting stronger. I’m getting lighter. I’m getting fitter. I want to get faster but does that really matter.

But there’s something else I don’t think you guys realise…

YOU HELP.

Every time you turn up, every time you see me out running, every message, every bit of encouragement — it helps.

Knowing people are watching, supporting me makes it that little bit harder to sack it off when I’m not feeling it. I have been trying for three years but I am still further forward than I was.

So tonight wasn’t just about running 5K.

It was about getting back out there, proving to myself that I can do this, and taking another step forward, fighting those weight loss demons.

8KG down. 5K done. Still a long way to go.

Thank you 🍸

So… how do I actually make the Pub Run playlist?

There’s a lot more thought that goes into it than you’d probably expect 😂

It’s not just throwing a load of songs together and hoping for the best.

We need the right mix of bangers, guilty pleasures, nostalgia, Ibiza vibes and songs that make absolutely no sense being played on a Thursday night run… but somehow work.

The aim is simple:

🏃 Keep you moving
🎶 Keep you smiling
🍻 Keep the vibe going
🕺 And occasionally make you forget you’re actually running

Because let’s be honest…

A Pub Run without music is just running.

And we’re not here for that. 😂

What song HAS to be on the next playlist? 👇

We’re not a “proper” run club. And we’re absolutely fine with that. ❤️

We’re a community.

A community that happens to run together.

We’re here for the people who run 30-minute 5Ks and the people who walk half of it. The experienced runners, the complete beginners, and everyone in between.

But more importantly, we’re here to support each other, support local businesses and support local charities.

🍻 We support our local pubs
🏪 We support local businesses
❤️ We raise money for local charities
🤝 We create friendships and connections
🏃‍♀️ We get people moving — without judgement
🎶 And, most importantly… we have a bloody good time!

Every week, people turn up who might never have joined a traditional running club.

That’s what makes us different.

You don’t have to be fast.
You don’t have to look like a runner.
You don’t even have to call yourself a runner.

Just turn up.

Because this isn’t really about running.

It’s about community.

Have Fun. Get Fit. Be Social. ❤️

Last night’s run could, on the face of it, be seen as a bit of a disappointment because of the disruption.

But I actually see it very differently.

We adapted.
We got a little fitter.
We had fun.
And most importantly, we were social.

Without wanting to speculate on what happened at Kingston Bridge, it did get me thinking about what the Pub Run Club is really about.

It’s not just about running.

It’s an outlet.
It’s a place to switch off.
It’s a space where people can talk.
It’s a place to meet people, laugh, or simply be around others.

Times are tough for a lot of people at the moment. Life can feel overwhelming, and sometimes you just need an hour where you can forget about everything else.

That’s why we’ll always have a FREE run every Thursday.

You can come along, get outside, take a break from the pressure of life, move your body and spend some time with good people.

And the best bit?

It’s completely free.

You don’t have to spend a penny at the pub. You don’t have to be a fast runner. You don’t even have to consider yourself a runner.

Just turn up. ❤️

And if you’re struggling, feeling low, or simply need someone to talk to, please reach out to someone. You don’t have to deal with things on your own.

You can contact the Samaritans for free, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, on 116 123.

Sometimes just talking to someone can make a difference.

Have Fun. Get Fit. Be Social.
That’s what Pub Run Club is all about.
