category 🏆🏆🗳️

Drumroll 🥁🥁The audience award goes to “Robin in the Hood” by Kristen Vollset. This outstanding film combines documentary, fiction and musical to create a modern version of the old ballad of Robin Hood.

We had 8 shorts in this year’s festival and they showcased the talent across different genres
and types of filmmaking.

Tonight at we will screen a quiet, deeply moving documentary by Gar O’Rourke — a gentle portrait of humanity and hope in uncertain times.

On the outskirts of Odesa stands the Kuyalnik Sanatorium, a faded Soviet-era resort where people come seeking healing, love, and renewal. Over the course of one summer, guests undergo mud treatments and electrotherapy — even as the war reshapes life beyond the sanatorium walls.

An oasis of calm. A space for connection. A reminder of human resilience.

Cillian Murphy is coming back to Berlin again 🤩

20 years ago he was doing press for Breakfast on Pluto at the Berlinale. And now in 2026 the Irish film festival Berlin runs from the 13th - 18th of March. Make sure to catch the Cillian Murphy retrospective which features The Wind That Shakes the Barley, Breakfast on Pluto, Small Things Like These and Intermission.

And it’s just so happens he’s back in Berlin this week for the Peaky Blinders “The Immortal Man” premiere at

THE IRISH QUESTION - Q&A Podcast
We were delighted to screen The Irish Question as part of Irish Film Berlin festival last week on St Patricks Day, and thank deputy Ambassador, JOhn Lynam for his opening remarks.

Our plan was to include the Writer and Co-Producer, John Walsh, in a virtual Q&A to conclude the screening. A technical issue unfortunately affected the audio on the evening. We are pleased to be able to share now an excellent Irish Times Podcast with John Walsh and, co-director, Alan Gilsenan, that discusses the documentary.
