Emergent Bass is an interdisciplinary event series focused on the BIPoC community. In our regular events, we combine the four disciplines: theory and discourse, with music and performance. Next to the many great artists*, we collaborate with the Archive of Youth Cultures, transmission.net and Mensch Meier. We want to connect to the history of Black and Q***r people who h
ave long celebrated the dancefloor as places of resistance. Through music, input and performances, we want to pay respect to those whose stories are too often not heard in the mainstream. House and techno music were born in Black and q***r communities that used the dancefloor as a place for collective healing. Trauma inscribes itself in our bodies and with dance and movement we can rebalance and rebuild. We use archives on subculture to uncover the Afro-Diasporic roots of house, techno and bass music. If you love underground club culture but are unclear about its origins, then you've come to the right place. With a focus on bass music and Afro-diasporic rhythms, we want to celebrate with you!

Emergent Bass ist eine interdisziplinäre Veranstaltungsreihe mit Fokus auf die BIPoC Community. In unseren regelmäßigen Veranstaltungen, verbinden wir die vier Disziplinen: Theorie und Diskurs, mit Musik und Performance. Neben den vielen tollen Künstler*innen, arbeiten wir mit dem Archiv der Jugendkulturen, transmission.net und dem Mensch Meier zusammen. Wir wollen an die Geschichte von Schwarzen und q***ren Menschen anknüpfen, die den Dancefloor schon lange als Orte des Widerstands gefeiert haben.
Über Musik, Input und Performances möchten wir denjenigen Respekt zollen, deren Geschichten im Mainstream zu oft nicht gehört werden. House und Techno Musik wurden in Schwarzen und q***ren Communities geboren, die den Dancefloor als Ort der kollektiven Heilung nutzten. Traumata schreiben sich in unsere Körper ein und mit Tanz und Bewegung können wir uns neu aus- und aufrichten. Wir nutzen Archive über Subkultur um die afro-diasporischen Wurzeln der House-, Techno- und Bass-Musik freizulegen. Wenn du Underground-Clubkultur liebst, aber dir über ihre Ursprünge im Unklaren bist, dann bist du bei uns richtig.
Mit einem Fokus auf Bassmusik und afrodiasporische Rhythmen wollen wir mit dir gemeinsam feiern!
