African Book Festival Since its first edition in 2018, the African Book Festival has been gathering the crème de la crème of African and Afrodiasporic writing in the German Capital.

Every year the programme is curated by a different literary icon.

Honestly, we could have stopped every single person this time, because the level of style was absolutely through the roof.

The African Book Festival is a reminder that literature has never existed in a vacuum. It lives through people, culture, creativity, representation, community, and self-expression. The stories are on the pages, but they’re also in the way we show up, connect, celebrate, and see ourselves reflected in one another.

Day 3 was proof that books and culture don’t just belong together, they’ve always been intertwined.
