Akihide Monna – as part of GAISTER · Friday 6 November, Berlin

Akihide Monna, known as Monchan, is the drummer of the London-based Japanese band BO NINGEN, a composer, and a visual artist working mainly in Indian ink painting and calligraphy. With BO NINGEN he has played Glastonbury, Coachella, Fuji Rock, Primavera Sound and Yoko Ono’s Meltdown. He has also performed at the Venice Biennale, the V&A, the Barbican and the ICA. At the heart of his work is a curiosity about how sound, as vibration, moves through the body and beyond it.

On 6 November he joins Olivia Salvadori and Coby Sey as GAISTER at Zenner Saal, where voice, drums and electronics meet somewhere between structure and improvisation. Charlie Hope does the light.

Also on the night: Maya Shenfeld live, and an opening DJ set by Józio Urbański.

Coby Sey – as part of GAISTER · Friday 6 November, Berlin

Songwriter, producer, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and DJ, Coby Sey came up through South East London’s DIY scene. His work blends hip hop, noise, jazz and grime into something entirely his own. He’s a founding member of the CURL collective, a long-time collaborator of Mica Levi and Tirzah, and he hosts a monthly show on NTS.

On 6 November he joins Olivia Salvadori and Akihide Monna as GAISTER at Zenner Saal, where voice, drums and electronics meet somewhere between structure and improvisation. Charlie Hope does the light.

Margaux Gazur makes sublime music to sooth the soul.
