Have you ever visited the smallest Slavic nation—the Sorbs? 🌍 The Sorbs settled in the eastern part of Saxony in the 6th century, where their language, culture, and traditional costumes are still vibrant today. A wonderful opportunity to experience Sorbian culture is the 15th International Folklore Festival "Łužica – Łužyca – Lausitz”. The next festival will take place from June 26th to 29th, 2025
, in Chrósćicy|Crostwitz, the historic city of Budyšin|Bautzen - which is also a hub of Sorbian life with several Sorbian institutions - and in Hochoza|Drachhausen in Lower Lusatia. The festival will also bring together other minorities and ethnic groups from around the world. 🌎 Each day will be filled with plenty of performances, colourful programs, and great entertainment. 🎶
Take this chance to visit the area between Bautzen and Kamenz, where two languages coexist, and immerse yourself in the culture, and traditions of the Sorbian people. The festival’s main focus is on minorities, ethnic groups, and the intangible cultural heritage from across the globe. 🌐 Participants from Lusatia and other parts of Germany will showcase their unique folklore and enchant you with their songs, dances, and traditional costumes. 🎭 We warmly welcome you to Lusatia for the 15th International Folklore Festival. 🌟
The festival kicks off on Thursday with a parade through the city of Budyšin|Bautzen, where the participants will introduce themselves, followed by the grand opening. 🎉
On Friday evening, the international folklore programs take place on various farmsteads in Hochoza|Drachhausen in Lower Lusatia. 🏡
Saturday the festival moves to Chrósćicy|Crostwitz, where gala performances can be experienced on multiple farmsteads, which will also introduce you to some traditional Sorbian meals — don’t miss the chance to taste them! 🍲
Sunday begins with a divine service in the Sorbian language, followed by an afternoon festival parade and subsequent folklore performances. The festival culminates in a grand finale, showcasing the highlights with most of the participants. 🌟

Das „Internationale Folklorefestival Łužyca - Łužica - Lausitz“ bringt wieder einmal die Welt in unsere Region. 🌍 Tanz- und Folkloregruppen der Lausitzer Sorben laden Ensembles aus allen Ecken der Erde ein, um ein atemberaubendes, farbenfrohes Programm zu präsentieren.
🌐 Besonders spannend: Bei der Auswahl der Gruppen wird wieder Wert auf die Teilnahme von Volksgruppen und Minderheiten gelegt, was für ein einzigartiges und vielfältiges Erlebnis sorgt.

Donnerstag: Startet das Festival mit einem Festumzug durch Bautzen, gefolgt von der feierlichen Eröffnung im Deutsch-Sorbischen Volkstheater. Freitagabend: In Drachhausen erwartet euch eine internationale Folklore-Estrade. Samstag: Die festlich geschmückten Bauernhöfe in Crostwitz werden zu den Bühnen für traditionelle Musik und Tanz. Lasst euch von den Darbietungen der Gruppen verzaubern und genießt dabei kulinarische Köstlichkeiten. 💃🕺 Das „Crostwitz-Special“ lädt besonders die Jugend zum Mittanzen und Mitsingen ein! Sonntag: Nach einem mehrsprachigen Festgottesdienst in Crostwitz folgt ein bunter Nachmittag mit einem Festumzug und einem thematischen Programm Lausitzer Folkloregruppen. Zum krönenden Abschluss erwartet euch ein grandioses Festival-Finale! 🎆
