DISHA DISHA e.V. (Deutsch Indische Soziale und Humanitäre Aktivitäten)

In September 1996, some Indians and Germans got together and started a social organization named "DISHA" a word of Hindi origin and specifies direction . Major aim of Disha is to serve rural India and to promote and maintain Indian culture and traditions in Germany. In regard to this, numerous events, such as the Diwali festival, Musical Evening, discussion panel and seminars have been carried out

in recent years by the organization. Further, members of Disha work in solidarity to help rural India, regardless of skin color, gender, religion and social status involved. Disha is a member of the "One World Forum Aachen", an association of Aachen, in which 20 developmentally active clubs are merged. Membership of this forum expresses our desire to work with other organizations pursuing similar goals. In the world that is becoming increasingly selfish and anti-social, we believe it is important to counteract and to practice solidarity and humanity.
