We are delighted to welcome all participants, jury members, professors, sponsors, and guests to the Alink Reception taking place within the framework of the MozArte International Piano Competition.

This special gathering is intended as a moment of encounter and exchange in an informal and welcoming atmosphere. It offers an opportunity for young pianists from different countries to meet one another beyond the stage, to connect with members of the jury and invited guests, and to become part of a wider international musical community.

The MozArte International Piano Competition brings together outstanding young talents, dedicated teachers, and experienced artists who share a common passion for piano music. The Alink Reception reflects this spirit by encouraging dialogue, cultural exchange, and mutual inspiration among all participants.

We are especially grateful for the continued support of the Alink-Argerich Foundation, which plays an important role in promoting excellence in piano competitions worldwide and in fostering meaningful connections within the classical music world.

🎹 Contemporary music meets artistic excellence at the MozArte International Piano Competition!

We are pleased to announce that a commissioned work by composer Enrico N. Czmorek has been included in the official competition repertoire. Participants may choose to perform the piece during the semifinal round as part of their program.

🏆 A special award of €500 will be presented for the most outstanding interpretation of the work, recognizing artistic individuality and creative vision.

The winner of the special prize will also be invited to perform the piece at the Gala Concert on September 4th, regardless of whether they advance to the final round of the competition.

🎼 The score can be found on the website.
⏱ Approximate duration: less than 5 minutes.

We look forward to hearing many inspiring interpretations and discovering new artistic perspectives through this exciting contemporary work.

Masterclasses at the MozArte International Piano Competition & Festival 🎹

The MozArte International Piano Competition & Festival offers participants a unique artistic experience through its inspiring masterclasses, led by distinguished pianists and internationally acclaimed pedagogues.

These sessions are a cornerstone of the festival, providing young musicians and advanced students with the opportunity to work closely on interpretation, technique, tone production, and musical expression in an open and supportive environment. Each masterclass encourages individual artistic development while also offering valuable perspectives on style, phrasing, sound and stage presence.

Beyond technical refinement, the masterclasses foster a deeper understanding of the repertoire and an exchange of ideas across cultures and generations of pianists. Participants and listeners alike benefit from the high level of artistic dialogue and the shared passion for music-making.

🎹 MozArte Piano Competition - Programme Requirements

The competition programme is structured in three stages with clearly defined time limits and repertoire requirements:

1st Round (max. 12 minutes)
Participants present a free programme of their choice, allowing them to introduce their artistic profile and individual strengths within a short recital format.

Semi-final (30-35 minutes)
A longer free-choice programme, designed to demonstrate stylistic versatility and artistic maturity.

In addition, participants may choose to include an obligatory commissioned work by composer Enrico N. Czmorek (max. 5 minutes).
This contemporary piece is part of the official competition repertoire and may be performed optionally in the semi-final. A special prize of €500 will be awarded for the best interpretation. The prize winner is required to perform the work at the Gala Concert on 4 September, regardless of whether they reach the final. The score and performance guidelines will be available from 1 May.

Final
Participants perform one of the following Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart piano concertos:
• Piano Concerto No. 12 in A major, KV 414
or
• Piano Concerto No. 14 in E-flat major, KV 449

🎶 The programme combines artistic freedom with a clear classical structure, offering each pianist the opportunity to present a coherent and convincing artistic development on stage.

🎹 Orchestra Final | MozArte International Piano Competition

The orchestra final will crown this year’s competition, as selected finalists present Mozart piano concertos with orchestra.

In this final stage, each interpretation is elevated through collaboration with the orchestra of the HfMT Aachen, bringing expression and elegance to the concert hall.

A fitting close to days filled with musical excellence. 🎶
