Norman Madhoo is back in the winner’s circle.

After making four consecutive finals to close the 2025 CDLC season without lifting a title, the Guyanese veteran broke through in Panama City with a commanding Event #3 victory, defeating Dean Persad 6-1 in the final.

Madhoo’s run included a semifinal win over Jesus Salate, ending the Argentine’s CDLC winning streak and denying him a Panama weekend sweep. Persad also continued his impressive rise, backing up his Event #2 quarterfinal appearance with a first career CDLC final.

The 2026 CDLC Tour opening weekend wrapped up in Panama with three events, three standout storylines, and another reminder that the race to the World Championship is wide open when the CDLC Tour resumes in Nassau, Bahamas July 24-27. FULL RECAP 👇

BACK-TO-BACK FOR SALATE AS ARGENTINE STAR CLAIMS EVENT #2 CROWN

Jesus Salate is two-for-two in Panama City.

The Argentine star backed up his Event #1 victory with another dominant run through the field in Event #2, defeating 2025 World Cup of Darts teammate Victor Guillin 6-1 in the final to claim back-to-back CDLC Tour titles.

Salate has now won four consecutive CDLC events dating back to 2025, while Guillin’s run to the final, Guillermo Soto’s second straight semifinal appearance, and Dean Persad’s first CDLC quarterfinal added to another eventful day in Panama.

Joshua Balfour and James Walkin are headed to Frankfurt.

The Trinidad and Tobago duo powered through the CDLC BetVictor World Cup of Darts Qualifier in Panama City, surviving a quarterfinal thriller against defending champions Jesus Salate and Victor Guillin before producing a commanding 10-1 victory over Rashad Sweeting and Lorenzo Deveaux of the Bahamas in the final.

For the first time in history, Trinidad and Tobago will be represented at the BetVictor World Cup of Darts, June 11-14, at the Eissporthalle in Frankfurt, Germany.
