We are searching taking resume applications for the sponsored athlete slot because our current athlete has shown us the way to the top is ruthless and hardcore corner cutting. We only want the best to represent our replicates!
Secondly we want to wish Master Shawn safe travels on his journey to a new dojo. You will find him on instagram soon with only the finest of replicates and sweating heavily from working hard at beating a smaller lower ranked opponent.
To highlight his time as our sponsored athlete he leaves the state with a 3 year undefeated competition streak in the state of Arizona.
Undefeated as a purple belt outside of the sacred confines of his McDojo. The Two Black belt schools within 10 miles shuddered in fear of him. Even the white belts that used to tap him out regularly never dared face him. Tuscon and Phoenix's Black belt schools open mats also have no wins against this formitable and skilled master of BJJ.
After losing by over 10 points as a blue belt at Pans, our sponsored athlete said he was no longer going to be bothered with those losers. He left his gym to put on a purple belt and compete at Pans in a 4 man bracket. Winning ONE match-he decreed himself the best! as multiple time IBJJF Pan medalist.
Recognizing this feat a school was founded in honor of Shawn. Gorilla Grips BJJ. Shawn was offically promoted to Purple belt to bring an end to local hostilities and run the club under as an affiliate of a legitimate school....and the stripes flowed.
The first stripe went to a blue belt. Because all newly self..I mean promoted Purple belts know the standards of striping a blue belt.
Our sponsored athlete with no direct supervision, competition, or upper belts brings in a non affiliated instructor to promote his students...and is awarded 4 stripes for his awesomeness. In less than 6 months as a blurple belt. Oh and he ditched another black belt instructor. Because who needs one when you are that good, right?!?
So Now we have his goodbye address to the hard working students that follow the best purple belt at that gym. It is heartfelt and so true. His savagery is one of the reasons he is a sponsored athlete here. He follows none of what he's telling them to do. Remember its not about the belts they wear. Its about the belt HE wears. They better kiss the converse.
So we expect great things from Master Shawn as he heads to the frozen north of Wisconsin. No other athlete we've interviewed has gone through as many professors in their quest for greatness in such a short period of time. No athlete has searched for the smallest least skilled population to dominate to look good on instagram and make our replicates shine bright. In 6 months he should have his brown belt because he deserves it-just ask him. Better yet once you roll him-you will know. The mats never lie.
