The France Macau Chamber of Commerce (FMCC), formerly known as FMBA, is a non-profit organisation, member of CCI France International network of French chambers in 95 countries. FMCC animates its network of members by organising different types of events, seminars, breakfasts meetings, business luncheons and technical visits, allowing its member companies and individuals to meet, exchange and create links to foster synergies, in order to develop business opportunities. Founded in 2008 by its Chairlady Pansy Ho, and with the strong support of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau.

Yesterday morning at Sofitel Macau At Ponte 16, FMCC hosted its latest Breakfast Talk Rendez-Vous, featuring an insightful presentation by Mr Michael Kou Tin Long, Project Lead of Honor & Trust.

Mr Kou provided an in-depth overview of Kashi, Xinjiang, covering key economic indicators and emerging opportunities for businesses seeking to expand into Northwest China. He also highlighted government initiatives supporting the Belt and Road Initiative and the region’s growing importance for entrepreneurs and investors.

Among the key takeaways were Kashi’s strategic location connecting China with Central Asia, its rich cultural heritage, and its diverse tourism assets. These strengths position the region as a promising hub for businesses and investors exploring new opportunities in the travel and tourism sectors.

Yesterday, the France Macau Chamber of Commerce was delighted to take part in the Ask China, Macau Edition forum, organised by AmCham, broadcast by CGTN, and sponsored by Wynn.

The session was held at the Wynn Macau Ballroom and featured an insightful roundtable and networking lunch. The forum panels included deputies and members of the 14th NPC and the CPPCC, as well as CGTN's moderator. The forum offered a compelling discussion on the 15th Five-Year Plan, examining China’s evolving economic policies and the strategic synergies it presents for Macau and the Greater Bay Area. Following the Q&A session, Mr. Rutger Verschuren was invited by CGTN to share his views on the timing of the forum ahead of the finalization of Macau's Third Five-Year Plan, which is expected to be enacted by August.

On 15 July, FMCC had the pleasure of attending a private tour of the late iconic British fashion designer and activist Vivienne Westwood’s exhibition and jewellery collection at Grand Lisboa Palace.

During the visit, our guide led us through the artist’s creative universe, tracing her life and the inspirations behind each piece in the curated collection. The exhibition left a lasting impression on our members.

The evening concluded with a networking cocktail at the Vivienne Westwood Café, where we raised a toast to art and culture.

The FMCC was pleased to support the Bastille Day dinner organised by Alliance Française Macau at Sofitel Ponte 16, hosted in the presence of the Consul General of France in Hong Kong & Macau.

FMCC was represented by Vice President Ms Nacky Kuan and Board Director & Treasurer Mr Jeremy Artan de Saint Martin.

This year's Bastille Day carried particular meaning, marking the completion of the mandate for Consul General Ms Christile Drulhe, alongside Economic Counsellor Mr Philippe Baudry and Business France Director Bertrand Quevremont. In her farewell address, Ms Drulhe articulated a compelling vision for Macau's future: greater openness to foreign talent to fuel economic dynamism and opportunity, a sentiment we wholeheartedly share.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Ms Drulhe and her team for years of unwavering partnership. We were honoured by her recognition of FMCC in her speech, and thank every member who joined the dinner.

On Thursday, June 25th, the FMCC successfully held its second Executive AI Mastery Training Series of the year at Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau, led by System in Motion, CEO Stéphane Monsallier, and A.I Expert Fiona Yeung.

Attendees gained advance AI skills for finance, such as using Generative AI to automate reporting, perform trends analysis, and mitigate risks. By the end, they left with cutting-edge methods and a strong framework to integrate AI into their daily tasks.

On Wednesday, June 24th, former HCNU Commander Mr. Peter Morgan delivered a captivating session on crisis negotiation. Drawing on his extensive frontline experience, he walked our members through the core principles of specialized police units when confronted with high-stakes situations, including hostage and su***de interventions. Mr. Morgan offered a compelling set of strategies and psychological tactics that elite units rely on to de-escalate life-threatening situations. Beyond the tactical insights, Mr. Morgan ended the session by prompting the audience to reflect further on the sophisticated art of negotiation and the importance of soft skills in successful negotiation.
