Mvoula : quand la nuit rallume la mémoire


Le samedi 21 février 2026, le village Mvoula, dans l’arrondissement de Biwong-Bulu, a accueilli la descente de l’initiative Soirée Soir au Village, portée par The Belinga Foundation. Une activité dédiée à la préservation du patrimoine culturel matériel et immatériel.

L’événement a rassemblé plusieurs clans, notamment les Esse de Mvoula (village hôte), les Ndong d’Efoulan et les Esse de Nselang. Cette rencontre intercommunautaire visait à renforcer les liens sociaux tout en valorisant les savoirs traditionnels.

Gastronomie et transmission

Les activités se sont articulées autour d’un concours d’art culinaire mettant en lumière des mets traditionnels dont les techniques de préparation tendent progressivement à disparaître. Les participantes ont démontré, à travers leurs gestes et recettes, la richesse d’un savoir-faire transmis de génération en génération.

Au-delà de la gastronomie, la soirée a également donné lieu à la présentation d’œuvres d’art, à l’exposé des lignages et arbres généalogiques, ainsi qu’à des séances de contes et proverbes, éléments essentiels de la mémoire collective.

Paroles d’autorité et reconnaissance

Plusieurs dignitaires traditionnels ont pris la parole pour saluer l’initiative. Ils ont exprimé leur satisfaction face à une démarche qu’ils considèrent comme essentielle à la sauvegarde des valeurs culturelles locales. Les interventions ont insisté sur la nécessité de multiplier ce type d’activités afin de renforcer l’unité entre les clans et d’encourager la jeunesse à s’approprier son héritage culturel. Un souhait que l'équipe de The Belinga a bien notée.

Danses et cohésion sociale

La soirée s’est poursuivie autour du feu, cadre symbolique de la transmission, avant de s’achever par des danses patrimoniales exécutées dans une ambiance conviviale.
Selon les organisateurs, cette descente à Mvoula marque une étape importante dans la mise en œuvre du programme culturel de la Fondation. Les populations locales ont favorablement accueilli l’initiative, perçue comme un espace de dialogue, de cohésion sociale et de valorisation identitaire.

Mvoula: When the Night Rekindles Memory

On Saturday, February 21, 2026, the village of Mvoula, in the Biwong-Bulu subdivision, hosted the outreach edition of the Soirée Soir au Village initiative, led by The Belinga Foundation. The event was dedicated to the preservation of both tangible and intangible cultural heritage.

The gathering brought together several clans, including the Esse of Mvoula (the host village), the Ndong of Efoulan, and the Esse of Nselang. This intercommunity encounter aimed to strengthen social ties while showcasing traditional knowledge systems.

Food and Transmission

The activities centered on a culinary arts competition highlighting traditional dishes whose preparation techniques are gradually disappearing. Through their gestures and recipes, the participants demonstrated the richness of expertise passed down from generation to generation.
Beyond gastronomy, the evening also featured the presentation of artworks, the recounting of lineages and family trees, as well as storytelling sessions and proverb, essential elements of collective memory.

Words of Authority and Recognition

Several traditional dignitaries delivered remarks praising the initiative. They expressed their satisfaction with an approach they consider vital to safeguarding local cultural values. Their speeches emphasized the need to multiply such activities in order to strengthen unity among clans and encourage young people to embrace their cultural heritage—a wish duly noted by the team at The Belinga Foundation.

"Sikolo a ne mfi" à Ngoazip, Nouvelle aventure, même plaisir d'aider

Partie tôt de Mengong ce jeudi 5 Février 2026, l'équipe de The Belinga Foundation arrive enfin à Ngoazip, école catholique éponyme, pour commencer les activités de la 5ème édition de l'initiative Sikolo a ne Nfi. Réel chemin de combattant que ce périple. La route n'aura été qu'une glissière et un bourbier dressés sur le trajet de l'équipe de passionnés d'éducation, telle un opposant redoutable sur le chemin d'un héros déterminé. La pluie de la veille y aura beaucoup contribué. Mais parce que le leitmotiv ici c'est aussi que rien n'arrête un cœur engagé au service du bien, l'équipe n'a pas fléchi.

Une attitude qui rend manifeste l'idéal qui sous-tend toute la dynamique de The Belinga Foundation, portée par la vision des effets multiplicateurs. Sur le terrain, l'accueil chaleureux permet d'oublier ces péripéties. Grande mobilisation, joie qui se lit sur les visages des élèves, des encadreurs mais aussi des parents venus par curiosité et captivés finalement par la grandeur de l'événement.

Dans cette grande mission de promotion de l'éducation jusque dans les recoins de la ruralité, The Belinga Foundation a bénéficié pour une fois d'une aide de l'Association des filles et femmes de Biwon-Bané de Yaoundé (AFFBY), une manière de montrer que ce travail de formi débuté depuis belle lurette attire progressivement l'attention de l'élite locale.

La nature de l'aide, du matériel didactique et de bureau, fait d'un package par école et d'un certificat de participation. On compte notamment un registre de 500 pages, un compact, une règle graduée, une équerre, une boîte de craie et une brosse pour nettoyer le tableau dans chaque paquet minimum.

Dans sa prise de parole, le représentant de The Belinga Foundation rappelle les missions de cette activité, à savoir :
- Promouvoir le développement, l'éducation et le bien-être des enfants
- Sensibiliser les communautés sur l'importance de l'éducation
- Fournir un soutien aux écoles et aux élèves nécessiteux
- Sensibiliser sur la vie et organiser des causeries éducatives pour discuter avec les élèves et les enseignants
- Distribuer du matériel scolaire et des fournitures
- Organiser des activités récréatives et éducatives pour les élèves
- Rencontrer les parents d'élèves et les autorités locales pour discuter des besoins des écoles

Une autre phase importante est celle des activités cognitives et ludiques dans lesquelles les élèves ont rivalisé d'adresse pour se distinguer dans le jeu du songo, les matchs des incollables, la compétition du meilleur groupe de danse... Pour garder la flamme allumée et inciter une saine compétition, des prix sont venus gratifier l'effort.

"Cette activité m'a permis de comprendre, moi qui n'ai pas fait d'études, que l'école est bien. Voilà mon fils qui a eu un prix en utilisant sa tête. Vraiment, ça m'encourage à mieux le suivre et ça me donne une certaine fierté. Vraiment, merci à The Belinga Foundation. Que Dieu vous bénisse", déclare un parent d'élève.

Dans la même lancée, les enseignants ont été sensibilisés sur l'importance pour chacun de bien faire son travail, car ils sont des architectes véritables de la Nation de demain. Un message que ces derniers ont reçu avec joie, exprimant aussi leur joie d'avoir des particuliers qui pensent à eux.

"Vous nous aidez beaucoup en mettant notre travail en exergue. Je vous assure qu'avec des activités comme celle-ci, vous aidez nos enfants à être éveillés et ça nous aide dans notre travail", a affirmé l'un d'entre eux.

En sensibilisant les communautés à l’importance de l’éducation et au rôle essentiel qu’elles peuvent jouer dans l’accompagnement des écoles, l’initiative Sikolo Ane Nfi a posé des actes concrets. Dans la section dédiée à l’innovation éducative, la dotation en ballons et sifflets olympiques a rappelé que l’épanouissement de l’enfant passe aussi par le sport et les activités extrascolaires.

Cette descente sur le terrain s’est révélée être un véritable succès, rendu possible grâce à la collaboration active des établissements scolaires, des partenaires et des communautés locales. Au-delà de l’arrondissement concerné, Sikolo Ane Nfi porte l’ambition d’un modèle solidaire et reproductible, capable de contribuer durablement à l’amélioration de l’éducation et du bien-être des enfants, partout où le besoin se fera sentir.

"Sikolo a ne mfi" in Ngoazip: A New Adventure, Same Joy of Helping

On Thursday, January 5, 2026, the team from The Belinga Foundation finally arrived in Ngoazip, at the eponymous Catholic school, to kick off the 5th edition of the Sikolo a ne Nfi initiative. This journey was a real challenge, with the road turning into a slippery slope and a quagmire, a formidable opponent on the path of determined heroes. The previous day's rain had a lot to do with it. But with the motto "nothing stops a heart committed to the greater good," the team didn't falter. This attitude reflects the ideals behind The Belinga Foundation's dynamic, driven by the vision of multiplier effects.

On the ground, the warm welcome helped forget the hardships. There was a great turnout, with joy on the faces of students, educators, and parents who came out of curiosity and were captivated by the event's grandeur.

Students from several schools participated:

- Mother School: Saint Clement Catholic Public School of NGOAZIP

In this mission to promote education in rural areas, The Belinga Foundation received support from the Association of Women and Girls of Biwon-Bané in Yaoundé (AFFBY), showing that this long-standing work is gaining attention from local elites.

The aid included educational and office supplies, with each school receiving a package and a participation certificate. Each package contained a 500-page register, a compact, a graduated ruler, a set square, a box of chalk, and a board brush.

The Belinga Foundation's representative outlined the activity's goals:
- Promote children's development, education, and well-being
- Raise community awareness about education's importance
- Support schools and needy students
- Organize educational talks and activities for students and teachers
- Distribute school supplies
- Organize recreational and educational activities
- Meet with parents and local authorities to discuss school needs

A highlight was the cognitive and fun activities where students competed in songo, quiz matches, a dance competition and more. Prizes were awarded to encourage healthy competition.

"This activity helped me, a non-educated parent, understand the value of school. My son won a prize using his brain. It encourages me to support him more and gives me pride. Thank you, The Belinga Foundation. God bless you," said a parent.

Teachers were also reminded of their crucial role as future nation-builders. "You help us a lot by highlighting our work. With activities like this, you help our children become more aware and support our work," said one teacher.

By raising awareness about education and the community's role in supporting schools, Sikolo Ane Nfi has taken concrete steps. The initiative's success, thanks to the collaboration of schools, partners, and local communities, shows its potential as a replicable model for improving education and children's well-being wherever needed.

Mvila : The Belinga Foundation renforce l’accès aux soins grâce à l’initiative Santé Zéro

The Belinga Foundation poursuit son action de proximité dans le département de la Mvila, en multipliant les descentes sanitaires au bénéfice des populations rurales. Le mercredi 28 janvier 2026, l’organisation a conduit une nouvelle opération de son programme Santé Zéro, cette fois dans l’arrondissement de Ngoulemakong, précisément au centre de santé de Soumou.

Situé à environ 20 kilomètres du centre-ville de Ngoulemakong, sur un axe non bitumé en direction d’Enamgal, le centre de santé de Soumou dessert la zone de Béné Akoué, une localité confrontée à des difficultés d’accès aux soins médicaux spécialisés. Malgré l’état de la route et les contraintes logistiques, l’équipe médicale de The Belinga Foundation a tenu à assurer la prise en charge sanitaire des populations locales.

Une forte mobilisation sanitaire

Cette descente Santé Zéro s’est soldée par un succès notable, tant par la mobilisation des populations que par la diversité des soins offerts. Au total, 94 patients consultés et pris en charge gratuitement.

Les consultations ont concerné plusieurs spécialités :
Ophtalmologie : 43 patients, témoignant d’un besoin important en soins oculaires dans la zone ;
Soins dentaires : 16 patients, pour des pathologies souvent négligées en milieu rural ;
Médecine traditionnelle : 26 patients, une approche complémentaire intégrée au programme Santé Zéro, respectueuse des réalités culturelles locales.

Santé Zéro : une réponse concrète aux inégalités sanitaires

À travers cette initiative, la The Belinga Foundation confirme son engagement en faveur d’une santé accessible à tous, particulièrement dans les zones enclavées. Le programme Santé Zéro vise à réduire les barrières financières, géographiques et sociales qui limitent l’accès aux soins pour les populations rurales et vulnérables.
En allant au plus près des communautés, la fondation adopte une approche de santé communautaire proactive, axée sur la prévention, le dépistage et la prise en charge précoce des pathologies courantes.

Mvila: The Belinga Foundation Strengthens Access to Healthcare Through the Santé Zéro Initiative

The Belinga Foundation continues its community-based outreach in the Mvila Division by increasing medical outreach missions for rural populations. On Wednesday, January 28, 2026, the organization carried out a new operation under this program in the Ngoulemakong district, specifically at the Soumou Health Center.

Located approximately 20 kilometers from downtown Ngoulemakong, along an unpaved road leading to Enamgal, the Soumou Health Center serves the Béné Akoué area, a locality facing significant challenges in accessing specialized medical care. Despite poor road conditions and logistical constraints, the medical team of The Belinga Foundation ensured the delivery of healthcare services to the local population.

Strong Community Health Mobilization

This Santé Zéro outreach was a remarkable success, both in terms of community participation and the range of services provided. A total of 94 patients were consulted and treated free of charge.

Medical services covered several specialties:
Ophthalmology: 43 patients, highlighting a strong demand for eye care services in the area;
Dental care: 16 patients, addressing conditions often neglected in rural settings;
Traditional medicine: 26 patients, a complementary approach integrated into the Santé Zéro program, respectful of local cultural realities.

A night of cultural Connection in Melangue

On January 24, 2026, Melangue 1 didn't just host a cultural event. The village opened its arms to a living tradition, driven by a desire for dynamic roots. For the first time, the concept “Evening in the Village,” usually anchored in Mengong district, landed in Biwong-bane, a neighboring district with the same Fang-Beti culture. A first outing. A test. A promise.

The curiosity of the locals was piqued early on. People came to see, but mostly to understand: what happens to a cultural event when it dares to venture out and travel? They wondered. And the answer wasn't spoken, it was discovered: it grows richer.

The evening took on a special dimension with the notable presence of several traditional authorities, a sign that the event went beyond mere entertainment to become a moment of memory and the laying of foundations for a people's university, a concept dear to the foundation.

His Majesty Akoa Joseph, chief of Melangue 1 village and host of the evening, welcomed his peers: Koume Tale Martin, chief of Oveng Bene village, Semengue Pierre, chief of Ofoumbi village, surrounded by notables Meni Manga and Mveme Onguene. Their joint presence gave the gathering a strong symbolic significance: that of a shared culture recognized at the highest traditional level.

Behind this visible success, there was patient and determined organization. Mrs. Esseng Ursule, president of the Association of Women and Girls of Biwong-bane and Yaoundé (AFFBY), played a central role in coordinating the event. Her commitment is not new. The Belinga Foundation had already supported her in previous community activities. In Melangue 1, this commitment paid off.

On the artistic front, the evening delivered. The culinary competition, one of the highlights, was won by the host village. Under the guidance of Mrs. Eyinga Marthe, Melangue 1 presented a variety of authentic traditional dishes, reminding that cuisine remains one of the most eloquent languages of identity.

The traditional dance, energetically performed by the Mvog Belinga group, set the night's rhythm. Mrs. Medioto Evans' sketch, from the Fong clan, combined humor and social observation, triggering laughter and applause, but most importantly, succeeding in that social satire that makes one rethink reality.

It's in the spoken word, however, that the evening found its depth. With remarkable mastery, His Majesty Semengue Pierre unfolded the history of the Ngoe clan, tracing the genealogical tree and the trajectories of the ancestors. Tales and proverbs, carried by representatives of different clans, reminded that tradition survives only when it's told, shared, and understood.

At the end of this dense night, one thing is clear: the first outing of “Evening in the Village” outside Mengong is a success. Better still, it's a foundational experience. Melangue 1 didn't just host an event; the village demonstrated that culture, when it circulates, creates connection rather than loss. “Evening in the Village” crossed an administrative border and opened a path.
