WORLD ART DAY CREATIVE EXPO 2026, A CREATIVE AWAKENING

What we witnessed was more than an event, it was a discovery of potential.

The day began on a beautiful note with a heartfelt opening prayer led by two of the youngest participants, setting the tone for a truly inspiring experience. This was followed by fun logo identity, colour, and motion games that sparked excitement, learning, and interaction right from the start.

Over 40 children then stepped into a space where creativity became learning. Through a practical approach, they explored the elements and principles of art, gaining knowledge that empowered them to confidently express themselves during their creative sessions.

The experience came alive across three exciting paths:

Culinary Arts: Young chefs got hands-on, preparing the rich Cameroonian Bayangi delicacy Garri and Eru, blending culture with creativity.

Fine Arts: From drawing and colouring to pencil portraiture, children expressed their imagination in beautiful and unique ways.

Performing Arts: The stage was alive with energy as dancers showcased contemporary and traditional moves, while rising music talents expressed themselves through singing, rap, and musical instruments, pure vibes all through.
Every child found their voice. Every talent found expression.

With the support of our esteemed donors, outstanding participants were rewarded, and every child went home with a gift, a smile, and a renewed sense of confidence.

This was more than a celebration of art.
It was a platform for learning, expression, and becoming.

To every parent, donor, and partner, this impact is because of you.

We didn’t just teach art… we unlocked creativity and inspired a generation.

Creative expression in children is often a suppressed virtue, quietly overlooked in favor of rigid academic performance. Yet, within that creativity lies curiosity, innovation, and the foundation for true understanding.

We must begin to bridge the gap between creativity, practical expression, and scientific learning. Education should not be a choice between imagination and intellect, it should be a fusion of both. When children are given the freedom to explore, create, and apply what they learn in real-life ways, education becomes alive, meaningful, and lasting.

Every child deserves an environment where creativity is not silenced but nurtured, where art, ideas, and hands-on learning coexist with theory. The arts are not a distraction from academic success; they are a gateway to it. They sharpen thinking, deepen understanding, and unlock confidence.

Until parents and guardians fully embrace this truth, many efforts to improve education will fall short. Because true education is not just about what a child knows, but what they can imagine, create, and become.
