Let‘s shape a sustainable future!

Since measurements began in 1864, the atmosphere near the ground has warmed by around 2.1°C, and most of this has occurred in recent decades. Since the 1980s, there has been significantly less snow and the first changes in precipitation are also becoming apparent. According to current climate scenarios, the warming of the climate system will continue in the future. We are all called upon to do our part to slow down this process.

In our current linear economic system, raw materials are mined, products are manufactured and sold. But then they are also consumed and thrown away again. This leads to a great environmental impact.

As our resources become more scarce and the world's population grows, we need to rethink and embrace a circular economy instead.

The circular economy allows existing materials and products to be shared, leased, reused, repaired, refurbished and recycled for as long as possible.

These are just three of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to be achieved by 2030 by all UN member states. Switzerland is also called upon to implement these goals nationally. We are all called upon to make a difference.

Olaf Holstein has been working in the field of sustainability and circular economy for 25 years. He is a co-founder of the association Next-Generations and thus very well connected in Switzerland and worldwide. He sits on various committees and leads various initiatives. Olaf ensures that the content is relevant and up-to-date. He provides the depth of content.
