⚠️ Falaise du Dar en travaux les 10 et 11 août ! 🚧

Sur l'initiative des ouvreurs et sous leur supervision, une équipe de rééquipeurs du CAS va progressivement changer tous les relais de la falaise du Dar.

Les travaux vont débuter ce weekend (10 et 11 août 2024) sur le secteur Festival du Dar. Il sera donc totalement inaccessible.

Le secteur Mérite Alpin devrait rester accessible, mais avec le bruit de foreuses et de marteaux en arrière-plan...

Warm temperatures were compensated by a very pleasant sunset.
It was a full moon last night, with a bit of a haze.

Another nice day's ski touring on the Walighurli, this time from Feutersoey with Steve and Max.
Visibility was poor on the summit but the tree gave us perspective and we found nice powder.

The Walighurli is a heliski peak and it was interesting to see that one helicopter found itself stuck in the cloud after dropping off its clients. We are not sure if it is still on the summit as the cloud didn't clear all day.

New Years day ski is always a nice start to the year if conditions allow.
The Walighurli above Gstieg is a popular classic ski touring peak and we were lucky to be alone during the day only meeting 3 other ski tourers on the summit.
We had a little top up of cold snow which was well needed and gave us a very enjoyable descent.

With warm spring like temperatures there are no icefalls to climb at the moment.
We found adventure in the East Ridge of the Gros Van (Arete Dorchaux) traversing over to ski the south face.
This is a technical ridge (grade 3) above col des Mosses giving solitude and wilderness away from the Christmas holiday makers.

The finale to 5 days perfect weather.
Fingers crossed for a bit more cold temperatures and snow as it has again been like spring.
