Tamara Lobato is a DJ (selector), dancer, and international facilitator, but above all, a guest and lifelong student of jazz. Their sets are carefully designed to evoke the groove and authenticity of African American vernacular jazz rhythms, especially from the 1920s and 1940s. Their work focuses on exploring these rhythms, with a special passion for boogie-woogie and rhythm & blues. They have performed at various national and international festivals, aiming not only to make
the audience dance but also to connect them with the cultural and historical richness of this music.

Hagar Orr has been Lindy hop dancer, teacher and DJ for the last 3 years. As a DJ, she like playing songs she herself would enjoy as a dancer - be it a laid back, low key instrumental tune that leaves a lot of room for creativity. Or a big band classic, full of energy and drive that makes you feel like you can keep on dancing forever. She loves standards and classics, as well as RnB grooves and the occasional Latin swing inspiration.

Our favorite local BIg Band, the Big Band de Dorigny, will kick off the Saturday night partyyyyy 💥💥

The Big Band de Dorigny (BBD) is an orchestra born in the fall of 2018 from the desire of a few members of the Lausanne university community to create a jazz swing band. It is composed of experienced musicians: five saxophones, four trombones, four trumpets and a rhythm section - and its repertoire, which is growing daily, is as festive and danceable as it is sophisticated.

The BBD has, since its birth, decided to honor the tradition of the Big Bands of the Swing Era by offering a repertoire for dancers. It has often collaborated with the Swingtime Lausanne Association, among other things for the organization of monthly dance parties.

Inspired by the wild hot sounds of 1930s/40s Harlem and Chicago jazz, The Big Five have established themselves as Berlin’s most authentic swing-era combo. Combining a driving rhythm section, a fiery horn-led frontline and dynamic song-arrangements, this international band makes a deep-dive into the lesser-known repertoire of the Swing Golden Age - as well as a strong emphasis on original compositions. Ranging in size from the core quintet to the full septet lineup.
The Big Five are veterans of Berlin’s famed Lindy-hop and Balboa dance-halls and know how to turn a mild-mannered dance party into a raging frenzy of swing-outs. With their sharp attire and an intense passion for authentic swing-era jazz, these cats will certainly make you Jump for Joy!

Nicolle Rochelle is a multi-talented American artist – singer, dancer, actress, and true show woman. Discovered at a young age on television and Broadway stages, she moved to France in 2006 to play Josephine Baker in Jérôme Savary’s musical Looking For Josephine, a role that led her on an international tour. Since then, she has built her musical career in Europe, performing with renowned jazz and soul ensembles and embodying Billie Holiday in acclaimed concert productions.
Charismatic and committed, Nicolle masters a wide range of styles – from jazz roots to hip-hop – and shares her art through performances, workshops, and multidisciplinary creations. With her project Modern GEAIsha, she blends singing, dancing, rap, and painting around themes of humanism, feminism, and self-expression.

We are so happy to welcome back Corina Kwami for Winter Swingtime 2025.

Called a "modern Renaissance woman" and "queen of storytelling" by Jazz in Europe, Corina Kwami is a musician, dancer and Master of Ceremonies (aka MC). She has performed in several countries in America, Europe, Africa and Asia with her projects (Corina Kwami Quartet, Jazz Age Dance Bands and Pangea), with projects such as Wild Card, recently acclaimed at the Royal Albert Hall!
Born in New Jersey, USA, to a Ghanaian and Irish family, her jazz inspiration draws on influences such as stride piano, West African high-life, Irish folk music and soul. She is motivated by the storytelling power of jazz and its potential to connect cultures.

At Winter Swingtime 2025, Corina will be our MC (Mistress of Ceremony) and she will also teach Exploration classes.

Can't wait to welcome Tyedric Hill for Winter Swingtime 2025! 🌟

Tyedric Hill is an American dancer, choreographer, and educator, passionate about exploring and transmitting African American dance traditions. He embodies the spirit of his ancestors, celebrating the deep roots of authentic jazz, lindy hop, tap, as well as more contemporary styles such as hip-hop, breaking, and house. Through his performances, he highlights the evolution of these social and vernacular dances while staying true to the authenticity that defines these art forms.

Tyedric is distinguished by his personal approach to dance, which he views as a way to honor Black cultural traditions, grounded in core values such as authenticity, community, hope, and dignity. He teaches and choreographs dances rooted in African American history while reimagining them to resonate with modern sensibilities. His work is a quest to demonstrate that African American dance forms—though often overshadowed by Eurocentric styles such as ballet and contemporary dance—are in fact the foundations of modern dance.

A passionate dancer and competitor, Tyedric has extensive experience on international stages, where he shares his expertise and energy with dance communities worldwide. His workshops, which weave together technique and history, are spaces for learning and celebrating social and vernacular dances.

At Winter Swingtime 2025, Tyedric will be teaching Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz.

We are so excited to have Kanini Kiiru with us for Winter Swingtime 2025. 💥

Kanini is a young dancer and teacher from Zagreb, Croatia. Her enthusiasm for music and dancing has
been evident since her childhood when she started playing piano at the age of 7.

Having Kenyan roots in her family, Helena has always been exposed to African music, which stimulated her sensibility for the rhythm.

Very soon she started developing interest towards dances like Hip Hop and Dancehall.
After 8 years of exploring various Street dance styles, she saw African American Jazz dancing and
immediately felt that it speaks to her on a very deep level. Currently based in Zagreb, she continues
to teach Jazz internationally and online.

She endlessly continues to fuel her inspiration with various other dance styles which makes her style innovative and refreshing.

At Winter Swingtime 2025, Kanini will be teaching Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz.

Ursula Hicks will be with us for Winter Swingtime. We're sooooo happy to welcome her back 💥

Ursula began her dance training over 20 years ago in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, and later Modern and Contemporary dance. Ursula graduated with B.A. in Dance Studies from Texas Woman's University in the summer 2013, where she studied with Marry Williford-Shade, Sarah Gamblin, Jordan Fuchs, and Gladys Keeton.

Ursula brings such musicality and enthusiasm to the dance floor, it's no wonder that she has placed in multiple lindy hop competitions including the International Lindy Hop Championships in Washington, D.C., LindyFest in Houston, TX. , and a number of other competitions.
Ursula has also been on the board of directors for The Fort Worth Swing Dance Syndicate, and served as president of The Dallas Swing Dance Society.

Ursula takes pleasure in collaborating with fellow artists and social dancing in the DFW area and enjoys teaching dance to students of all ages. She is an absolute joy to watch and learn from.

At Winter Swingtime 2025, Ursula will be teaching Lindy Hop and some Exploration classes.

We are so much looking forward to having Trisha Sewell with us for Winter Swingtime 2025

Trisha Sewell hails from the UK, and has been teaching since 1997 and internationally since 2003. Trisha has built up a reputation for being one of the most influential teachers within the European Swing Scene. She has spearheaded the revival of Authentic Jazz within the UK, working and training with some of the freshest dancers and teachers around.

Her teaching style is innovative, dynamic and inspiring. Always engaging and fun, Trisha loves to make people laugh and feel relaxed in her classes. At the end of her classes students are filled with energy and excitement.

Trisha has natural flair, a unique touch and very distinctive style on the dance floor, her focus being to recreate the look of the original dancers of Lindy Hop. She has choreographed countless routines and also performed in the world famous Royal Albert Hall in London.

At Winter Swingtime 2025, Trisha will be teaching Exploration classes.
