Concours de Genève Founded in 1939, the Geneva Competition is one of the world’s leading international music competitions. Programme, rules & registration on www.concoursgeneve.ch

It aims at discovering, promoting and supporting young talented artists, giving them the necessary tools to launch an international career. The 76th Concours de Genève is presenting Piano & Composition and will be held from 22 October - 3 November 2022 in Geneva, Switzerland. It is open to pianists up to 30 years old and composers up to 40. Application deadline for the piano competition is March 1

5th and June 10th for composition.

New this year, piano semi-finalists will be required to present and defend an artistic project which the Concours de Genève will then help them realise as part of the prizewinners’ career development programme! Finalists will get to perform with the OSR - Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, conducted by Maržena Diakun. The subject of this year’s Composition Competition is a work for six-voice vocal ensemble; The Jury will meet from 20-22 June to study all applicants' scores and select the three finalists, who will be invited to Geneva from 20-26 October. Their works will be performed during the Final Round by the Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart on October 26th. In addition to official prizes worth CHF 20,000, CHF 12,000 and CHF 8,000, as well as many special prizes, laureates benefit from a Career Development Programme, which includes concerts, international tours, CD recordings, workshops and personalized coaching. All rounds will be live-streamed on the competition's website & social media platforms. The piano jury will be chaired by Janina Fialkowska and composition by Beat Furrer.

💿 New release — Natalia Auli

Laureate of the Concours de Genève 2021, oboist Natalia Auli has just released her debut album "Sincretismo", a project developed over several years and realized in part thanks to the Rose-Marie Huguenin Special Prize, which she was awarded in Geneva!

This first volume, dedicated to chamber music, brings together newly commissioned works for oboe and ensemble, inspired by Venezuelan traditional music and exploring a rich contemporary sound world.

Lauréate du Concours de Genève 2021, la hautboïste Natalia Auli dévoile son premier album « Sincretismo », un projet développé sur plusieurs années et soutenu notamment par la bourse Rose-Marie Huguenin, dont elle a pu bénéficier grâce au Concours de Genève.

Ce premier volume, consacré à la musique de chambre, réunit des œuvres nouvellement commandées pour hautbois et ensemble, inspirées des musiques traditionnelles vénézuéliennes et explorant un univers sonore contemporain riche.

This weekend, two competitions come together in Geneva!

Our Conducting semi-finalists and Composition finalists will collaborate over two days of workshop sessions at the Fondation Louis-Jeantet.

Under the guidance of Maestro Pascal Rophé, conductors will dive into the three new works by the composers — through score discussions, collective sessions and musical exchange.

A unique opportunity to bring these pieces to life, together — ahead of their performance in the Final with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande this November ✨

FINALISTS ANNOUNCED - Composition Competition 2026 ✨

We are proud to reveal the three finalists of the Concours de Genève Composition Competition 2026:

Sing-Yat Chen (Hong Kong, 24)
Hanurij Lee (South Korea, 20)
Rafael Marino Arcaro (Brazil, 35)

Selected from a record-breaking 188 applicants representing 46 countries, these composers will present their works during the final round in Geneva on 11 November.

Their works for symphony orchestra will be performed by the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, conducted by the finalists of the 2026 Conducting Competition - a unique collaboration placing contemporary creation at the very heart of the Competition.

The Jury hard at work reviewing the 188 scores received from around the world for this year’s Composition Competition - a record number!

The three finalists will be announced on Tuesday.

For the 2026 edition, candidates were invited to write a 12–16 minute work for symphony orchestra. The three selected works will be performed during the final round on 11 November by the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, conducted by the three finalists of the 2026 Conducting Competition.
