The sixth edition of the Awareness Lectures on Psychedelic Science takes place on 9–10 October 2026 at the Kultur & Kongresshaus Aarau, Switzerland, with a new pre-conference Workshop Day of psychedelic-assisted therapy training on 8 October. 🧐

The Workshop Day is held by licensed psychedelic-assisted therapy practitioners from Switzerland.
At the Conference, across two days you'll hear research and clinical perspectives spanning neuroimaging, trauma, addiction, social cognition, policy, and the phenomenology of psychedelic experience, alongside two panel discussions.

Tickets include both conference days, catering, the networking apéro, and the Saturday afterparty. Psychologists and medical professionals can earn 14 FSP and 10 SGPP continuing-education credits. 👩‍🏫

SPEAKER ANNOUNCEMENT 🎙️ Prof. Dr. Eric Vermetten joins ALPS Conference 2026!

We’re honored to welcome Eric — professor at Leiden University Medical Center and founder of the Trauma Innovations Network — to the ALPS stage this October.

His talk, “What Psychedelics Teach Us About Trauma,” brings decades of rigorous trauma and PTSD research to bear on a question the field is only beginning to ask: What do psychedelic-assisted approaches reveal about the nature of trauma itself — and how we’ve been thinking about treatment all along? 🧠✨

This isn’t about applying psychedelics to existing trauma frameworks. It’s about what happens when a clinician-scientist with Eric’s depth of experience encounters these compounds and asks: what are they showing us that we’ve missed? What new principles of trauma recovery do they illuminate?

The kind of wisdom that only comes from decades in the field, meeting a frontier head-on.

SPEAKER ANNOUNCEMENT 🎙️ Tommaso Barba joins ALPS Conference 2026!

We’re thrilled to welcome Tommaso — PhD candidate at the Centre for Psychedelic Research, Imperial College London — to the ALPS stage this October.

His talk, “EEG correlates of self-dissolution induced by intranasal 5-MeO-DMT,” ventures into one of the most profound and least understood phenomena in psychedelic research: ego dissolution at its most extreme. What’s actually happening in the brain during moments when the boundaries of self collapse entirely? 🧠✨

By mapping real-time EEG activity during 5-MeO-DMT administration, Tommaso is translating the subjective intensity of ego dissolution into objective neural signatures — work that’s crucial for understanding the mechanisms behind some of psychedelics’ most transformative experiences.

What if these compounds aren’t treatments in the conventional sense — but tools? And what would that shift mean for how we study them, deliver them, and talk about them? 🧠✨
