🏆 A proud moment for the Omega European Masters and the Golf-Club Crans-sur-Sierre!
The ETG Sustainability Awards, led by the European Tour Group, celebrate partners and suppliers who show leadership and innovation in delivering more sustainable golf tournaments worldwide.
This year, the Omega European Masters and the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club have won the European “Venues” Award, recognising sites that take meaningful steps to strengthen the relationship between the golf course and its natural environment.
Set at 1,500m in the Alps, the course faces challenges from climate change, sensitive habitats, and water scarcity. Together with partners like bloomUp, GEO Foundation and Naturaks, the tournament has implemented initiatives that protect nature while benefiting the community.
Some of our initiatives include :
🌿 31 bird boxes, restored wetlands, wildflower meadows, and educational biodiversity panels
♻️ 100% reusable tableware, single-use plastic avoided and 30,000 printed start lists eliminated
💧⚡️100% renewable electricity, water fountains available and a completely new irrigation system
👥 Two PRM viewing areas, free entry for under-18s and the unique « Beat the Pro » challenge
This award is a tribute to the dedication of all teams, on and off the course, and to a community committed to creating a tournament that benefits people, the planet, and the game of golf. ⛳️
