We have been seeing SOME (albeit small) progress being made on our stairs on the outside of the building so we’re feeling somewhat optimistic now about a June (end) opening.

If you are a business owner who would be interested in signing up/applying to be a vendor at our grand opening event, comment below with a little info about your biz and a link to check it out (website, socials etc). Spaces will likely be $20 and will be a bring your own table event (though we may have some tables that are smaller/square sized).

We would be looking for:

- spiritual biz
- health/wellness
- movement
- community-focused businesses
- from within the tricounties
- non-denominational/non-religious (or if you’re religious you are accepting and inclusive)
- folks who would be interested in collaborating with us for an event in the evening on opening day to incorporate yoga/breathwork/movement of some kind

If you’re not totally sure if it’s a fit, comment anyways and we’ll reach out!

Working on building our own individual businesses, and coming up with the concept of The Village Mothers happened for us in the thick of our motherhood journeys!

We know the pull of trying to build something, the importance of connection & encouragement, and the benefit of experiencing networking with individuals in a similar season ! 🩷

We know the value that togetherness brings to women creatively building or launching a business 🫶✨️

We wanted to put feelers out for a FREE coffee chat for women entrepreneurs who would love to chat, collab, and just be together and gain inspiration from a group building in their season of motherhood!

Something both of us really wanted to start speaking up more about to create some clarity around what we're building here:

The Village Mothers is not JUST an events brand.

✨It is our answer to the question: where did the village go?✨

🏡The kind of village that held families without requiring you to have it together
🏡That held women without asking them to perform
🏡That held community without a ticket price or a membership fee or the right beliefs

We are building it back. Right here in Port Maitland, Nova Scotia. Upstairs at Sunshine Studio.

‼️AN UPDATE FOR THE COMMUNITY‼️:
We were hoping to have our big Grand Opening event and first moon circle, May 30th, but unfortunately due to circumstances outside our control, our fire escape stairs have not been completed yet and we will have to push it out. We are now looking to the end of JUNE instead of May. I'd love to hear from you if you'd be interested in coming to an event like we described in our previous post OR if you want to be a vendor at our event, please send us a DM and we will send over an application!

We get this question a lot. So let us answer it honestly.

A moon circle is simply a gathering of people who use the rhythm of the moon as a framework for reflection, intention, and release.

New moon: what are you calling in? What are you beginning?

Full moon: what are you releasing? What has been carried long enough?

It is not religious. It does not require any particular belief system. You do not have to know anything about astrology.

You just have to be willing to show up and be honest about where you are.

We host them. They are safe, warm, and genuinely held. No performance required.

Bloom Circle is our first. May 30th as part of our grand opening event so you can try it out and see what circles with US are truly like.

May is a big month for The Village Mothers!

While we have run into some complications with getting building permits and stairs built on the outside of the building, we are tentatively planning to open our doors to the upstairs at the end of May on May 30th. This is the upstairs space above Sunshine Studio and will become our home for women’s circles, healing gatherings, workshops, and community.

On May 30th, we are planning to host our grand opening which will include our first official gathering under the blue moon at the end of the event. More details coming soon and ways to sign up for the event will be on our page.

In between all of this, we are building, dreaming, and attempting to share all of it with you! Is there anything that we haven’t shared or talked about that you’re wondering about? Drop it in the comments, we would love to answer any questions or include anything that you’re hoping to be a part of. 🩵 ✨ 💙
