2026 WJFF RECAP!

After an incredible five days, 15 films, and one epic closing night event, the 2026 WJFF came to a close, last Thursday, June 4.

We are so proud of the ways the festival is growing and expanding year after year, and in this 23rd season we managed to bring in new members of our community, and welcome many patrons from outside of our Windsor Jewish community, which shows us that we must keep sharing, and telling these Jewish stories!

A huge thank you to all of our sponsors, donors, patrons, volunteers and to everyone at the and especially for ending off our season with a fantastic event and leaving us all feeling connected and inspired!

We hope to see you all again next year, and if you have a memory or favourite film from this year’s WJFF, please leave it in the comments below! We’d love to hear about your experience this year! ⬇️

We must support Jewish film festivals, Jewish stories and Jewish Filmmakers!

Why?

Well, imagine…
Hollywood without Steven Spielberg, or Mel Brooks, or the Coen brothers?

Imagine no Indiana Jones, no Harry meeting Sally?!

So many iconic Hollywood films, have put Jewish filmmakers on the map, and it is up to film lovers and movie goers like us, to support the Jewish Filmmakers who are screening their films at Jewish film festivals, like WJFF- so Jewish stories can continue being told!

And because you never know–you could be supporting a Hollywood icon in the making, and we know the film world simply wouldn’t be the same without Jewish filmmakers!!

We’re checking in with some of our staff to find out what they’re excited to see this year, at the Windsor Jewish Film Festival!

Head of Programming says he’s excited for “Jews around the world” a series of documentary shorts, exploring the lives of Jews in different parts of the world, and one short focused on Jews in Space!

“Jews Around the World” will be screening in our OPENING time slot on the FIRST DAY of the 2026 WJFF, 1:00PM, Sunday, May 31.

Watch this video and find out why Joe is most excited to see this series, and why he believes our audiences will find these films are an exciting way to open the festival, this year!
