Chef Javier Blanc brings his mastery of the Spanish hearth to a field kitchen among the horses and the fields, and we love a chef who’s up for a little adventure.

The menu moves like the season, rich, savoury, rustic, smoky, and deeply comforting, a menu marking the close of a Pemberton Valley summer.

Dinner outside, putting on a jacket as the evening cools, forgetting about the clock for a while and feeling like everything moves just a little slower.

That’s the feeling we want to bring to FRIENDS OF THE FARMER!

For our first edition, we’re incredibly excited to welcome Chef Javier Blanch, owner of Paella Guys and Casa Molina to the table.

Javier’s cooking is rooted in the Spanish tradition of gathering around food, big pans cooked over fire, generous plates passed around the table, and meals that are meant to linger over.

On September 19, Javier will be bringing that spirit to Za Ropa Ranch where he’ll be cooking a four-course dinner for us, inspired by the warmth, generosity and simplicity of Spanish cooking.

An early fall evening in the valley. A long table in the middle of the farm. Paella over the fire. W**e in your glass. Good people around you.

Friends of the Farmer exists to do one thing: put the hands that grow our food back where they belong, in the light. The ones who rise before the sun, who work the land so the rest of us get to sit down and eat well, deserve more than a line on a menu.

We’re beginning with the people who make the ground itself worth gathering on.

Za Ropa Ranch sits along the Ryan River, a family-run ranch and farm holding onto something older than trend, the heritage ethos of the valley, the health of the soil, the quiet preservation of what’s wild. Horses saddled at first light. Hay cut and stacked before the weather turns. Cows moving slow against mountains that stop you mid-step. [

Kitt Redhead and seth wescott and their dogs run this place the way land deserves to be run, and somehow, in the middle of it all, there’s still a flower garden in bloom.

Soon, a new addition will take root here too, thepalominomercantile , rising right on the ranch.

There is a particular kind of quiet that settles over a working ranch at the end of the day and we are setting our table for it, here, on September 19th.

FRIENDS OF THE FARMER · VOL. 01

In the Pemberton Meadows, the Ryan River moves through open farmland beneath Mount Currie. Hay fields, horses and working farms stretch across the valley, a landscape shaped by generations of farming.

On September 19, as the afternoon light settles over the meadows, we’ll gather at for the first Friends Of The Farmer.

The ranch will become our table for the evening. We’ll walk through the farm, meet the people behind the land, and sit down together among the fields and horses as the mountains surround us.

At the centre of the table is Chef Javier Blanc, the Madrid-born chef behind and . A finalist in the World Paella Day Cup, Javier brings his own story and interpretation of Spanish cuisine to the valley, creating a four-course, family-style menu inspired by Spanish traditions, seasonal ingredients and cooking over fire.

Then, we’ll eat. We’ll drink. We’ll stay awhile.

the Breakhaus is opening studio availability for movement practitioners this fall, winter & spring.

We’re welcoming 1–2 practitioners who are looking for an intentional space to host their weekly classes/offerings in Whistler.

Whether you teach yoga, Pilates, mobility, breathwork, strength, or another movement practice, if you’re looking for a space that supports your vision and allows you to bring your community together, we’d love to connect.

After almost three years, it felt right to let the Breakhaus grow beyond its original vision and step fully into what it has naturally become.

What started primarily as a hair salon with a bit of room for others, slowly evolved into something bigger. The space began to be requested more and more by creatives, to create, host, meet, teach, and build. And last November, we listened. We closed the hair salon side of the studio and opened the doors wider to the creative community.

The heart of the Breakhaus hasn’t changed. It’s still welcoming, thoughtful, and community driven, but now with a clearer focus.

The Breakhaus is here for your ideas. From campaigns and lookbooks to corporate meetings, workshops, wellness classes, showrooms, and pop ups, this space is meant to support how you create and connect.

We quietly launched our new website in November, and there’s more unfolding soon: interior updates, a curated shop, and more open door events in the works.

Following the continued evolution of the BREAKHAUS as a creative and entrepreneurial space, we are opening the doors to welcome a new independent hairstylist into our collective.

This is a booth rental position, designed for those who value autonomy, but also see the benefit of shared energy, vision, and space. For the right candidate, there is room for a commission-based structure that maintains independence.

Our intention is not to build a traditional team, but a network of like-minded professionals who choose to grow alongside one another, without obligation. Who bring their own point of view, and leave room for collaboration, if and when it makes sense.
