The Atwater Poetry Project
The Atwater Poetry Project is an almost-monthly poetry reading series that brings the best local, Canadian, and international poets together with a passionate audience of poetry fans. It was established by Oana Avasilichioaei in 2004.
Readings usually take place in the Library’s auditorium on our top floor. There is often a question-and-answer period following the readings. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.
Atwater Poetry Project is committed to being a safer space and anti-oppression space. We ask all guests to be respectful and non-discriminatory toward others within the reading space and in the Library where the series is located. Violent, discriminatory or harmful behaviour will not be tolerated. We acknowledge that this reading series takes place on unceded Indigenous lands of the Kanien’kehá:ka people in Tiohtiá:ke/Montreal.
We acknowledge the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, which last year invested $153 million to bring the arts to Canadians throughout the country.
